Job description

Job Summary:
Cardinal Integrated Technologies Inc is seeking a Cloud (AWS) Database Administrator to manage database administration activities throughout the product lifecycle. The role involves ensuring database performance, availability, and maintenance while collaborating with various teams to support the database environment.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข You will ensure database resources are sized properly and a design strategy is developed to make sure that the database is maintained at a healthy size.
โ€ข You will ensure availability and performance of multi database and application environments with very large volumes and sizes.
โ€ข You will perform routine DBA tasks like database maintenance, backups, recovery, table space management, upgrades, etc.
โ€ข You will execute periodic health checks for databases and recommend changes that should be executed in the production environment to ensure optimal performance.
โ€ข You will interact and work with multiple infra and IT teams as part of environment setup, maintenance and support
โ€ข You will work closely with developers, assist them with database structure design as of business needs (e.g. indexes, constraints, integrity)
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Postgres
โ€ข AWS
โ€ข 3-6 years of total experience
โ€ข Experience with a high performance, low latency, 24x7x365 always-up, always available production PostgreSQL database environment
โ€ข Clustering PostgreSQL using Pacemaker and Corosync
โ€ข Experience with deploying, configuring and maintaining Postgres in AWS
โ€ข Experience in data sharing
โ€ข Linux administration experience
โ€ข Experience with Perl or Python
โ€ข Experience in one, or more, of PL/pgSQL, PL/Perl, Python
