The Role

A Mid-Level Database Administrator designs, implements, maintains, and optimizes complex database systems, ensuring data security, integrity, and performance for critical business operations, often involving performance tuning, backup/recovery, security, scalability, and mentoring junior DBAs, requiring deep knowledge of DBMS SQL Server, AZURE SQL, AWS RDS ORACLE, AWS PostgreSQL and cloud platforms. Handle advanced tasks like disaster recovery, ETL processes, automation, upgrades, and collaborating with IT teams. Able to work and be available off hours for Month end Processing. And be available for any issues that arise off hours and other schedule maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Implementation: Architecting and setting up new databases and complex database environments.

  • Performance Tuning: Monitoring, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing database performance.

  • Security: Implementing access controls, security policies, and ensuring compliance.

  • Backup & Recovery: Developing and executing data backup and disaster recovery plans.

  • Maintenance: Performing patching, upgrades, and routine system health checks.

  • Automation: Automating routine tasks (backups, reports, etc.).

  • Troubleshooting: Providing advanced support and root cause analysis for complex database issues.

  • Mentoring: Guiding junior database administrators.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (experience may substitute).

  • Experience: five years of experience in database management. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, cloud DBs (Azure, AWS), ETL, HA/DR solutions (AlwaysOn,Data Guard).

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (Microsoft Azure, AWS) can be beneficial.

  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, attention to detail, and communication skills.
