Senior Database Developer / Data Engineer with Oracle Database Exp ( Hybrid - Secaucus, NJ.)
We are looking to hire a candidate with the mentioned skill sets and experience for one of our clients within the transportation Industry.  This is a HYBRID role in Secaucus, NJ. (1 day per week)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer / Data Engineer with strong expertise in Oracle database development, performance tuning, database optimization, and migration projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with PL/SQL, Oracle RDS, SQL Server, AWS, reporting, and Power BI.

This role requires a strong database professional who can design, develop, optimize, and migrate enterprise-scale databases and support reporting and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Oracle database solutions.
  • Develop complex and high-performing SQL and PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, packages, functions, and views.
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization, including query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain solutions within Oracle RDS environments.
  • Support and lead database migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Work on Oracle to Databricks migration projects.
  • Develop and support reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI and DAX.
  • Work with SQL Server and Oracle databases to support data integration, reporting, and analytics requirements.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, BI developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot database performance, data quality, migration, and production issues.
  • Work with cloud-based data and database environments, with AWS preferred and Azure experience also considered.

Required Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience.
  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on Database Development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database development.
  • Excellent expertise in PL/SQL and SQL development.
  • Strong experience developing and optimizing: Oracle SQL Queries, Views, Stored Procedures, Packages and Functions
  • Strong expertise in database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Experience with Oracle RDS.
  • Hands-on experience with database migration projects.
  • Experience with SQL Server.
  • Experience with Oracle to Databricks migration.
  • Experience working with AWS or Azure, with AWS preferred.
  • Experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI.
  • Strong knowledge of DAX.
  • Strong problem-solving and database troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS data and database services.
  • Experience with Databricks and modern data platforms.
  • Experience with large-scale database migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Experience working in enterprise data and reporting environments.
