On behalf of our client, Procom Services is searching for a Database Administrator for a contract opportunity in Bala Cynwyd, PA.


Database Administrator - Network/Operations Job Details


Conduct peer reviews, and help prepare technical documentation, creation and maintenance of operational data store (ODS), data warehouse, and data mart applications. You will also coordinate builds and deployments across environments, and perform admin work as necessary. Responsible to manage Development ,QA and Production environments Making sure that code is sync in all the three environments. Patch installation (Hot Fixes /Software's ) Bouncing Activities or Restarting the Services Network Changes System level parameter checks CPU spike, Memory utilization Load Monitoring - Monitoring the loads (workflows) whether the loads are scheduled to respective timings. 


Job Responsibilities

Responsible to manage Development ,QA and Production environments

Making sure that code is sync in all the three environments

Patch installation (Hot Fixes /Software's )

Bouncing Activities or Restarting the Services

Network Changes

System level parameter checks CPU spike, Memory utilization

Load Monitoring - Monitoring the loads (workflows) whether the loads are scheduled to respective timings.

Recovery or Re-start in loads in case of any failures.

Identifying the tardiness in loading process in case of any sessions are in hung status.


Database Administrator - Network/Operations Mandatory Skills


Minimum of 4 years of overall IT experience

2 years prior experience focused in ETL design, development, review, and testing

2 years professional experience in Data Integration/Data warehouse environments

4 years of experience with Informatica PowerCenter

2 years professional development experience in SQL Server 2005, 2008 or 2012

Development experience in transforming XML messages and understanding of XML schemas

Experience in database query optimization

Integration experience with source code repositories (Subversion, Team Foundation Server).

Experience working with offshore resources

Experience working with vendors

More than 2 years of experience in data warehouse/mart environments

Experience building/implementing scalable, reliable, and high-performance ETL architectures

Understanding of modern software engineering principles, practices, and systems development methodologies

Excellent ETL design skills and hands-on experience in developing ETL mappings

Hands-on experience in Informatica administration work

Demonstrated experience in optimizing/troubleshooting poorly performing ETL mappings

Working experience with insurance industry is a plus

Professional experience with SAP Data Integrator as a designer and developer is a plus

Strong Knowledge of the data governance and data management concepts and practices

Strong Knowledge of the concepts, and best practices for ETL development

High proficiency in understanding relational data models

Advanced knowledge of XML, XSLT.

Strong knowledge of Unit testing frameworks and SOAPUI

Professional experience with SAP Data Integrator as a designer and developer is a plus
