Detailed Job Description

Job Title: Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (ITAR SQL/Nutanix SME)

Position Summary: Seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA to manage and support Benchmark's enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environment. The resource will serve as the primary SME for Nutanix Database Services (NDB) and will be responsible for SQL administration, performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, upgrades, migrations, backup/recovery, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases across production, test, and disaster recovery environments.
  • Install, configure, patch, upgrade, migrate, and deploy SQL Server databases and related components.
  • Serve as SME for Nutanix Database Services (NDB) and support SQL workloads hosted on Nutanix platforms.
  • Manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Database Mirroring, and Log Shipping.
  • Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, root cause analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain database high availability, backup/recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Administer Dell EMC Avamar and Data Domain backup solutions for SQL Server environments.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation and provide L3 support for critical production incidents and outages.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, runbooks, and compliance-related artifacts.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, security, storage, and DR teams to ensure reliable database operations.

A candidate s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
