Job Summary Job Summary About the Role The Database Manager is responsible for the strategic administration and oversight of the School's data systems, exercising independent judgment in managing operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring data integrity in support of institutional goals. They support the work of the administration, the faculty, students, and parents by providing the yearly set-up and management of maintenance.

In addition, they will consult on and maintain other technology systems in the school, such as database integrations, educational apps, classroom equipment, and provide communication with teachers in these areas. Review systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Responsibilities of a Database Manager Oversee all aspects of our Student Information System (SIS), Veracross, and Learning Management Systems (LMS): Canvas and additional systems as needed Establish and oversee data management standards and processes governing academic information, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with institutional and reporting requirements The Database Manager is responsible for the strategic administration and oversight of the School's data systems, exercising independent judgment in managing operations, optimizing processes, and ensuring data integrity in support of institutional goals Manage student records as needed, including but not limited to adjusting family relationships, updating contact information, editing enrollment years Work with Enrollment Office to move new students into SIS/LMS Design and deliver complex data queries, reports, and analytics to support institutional decision-making and operational planning Develop and enforce user access and permission structures in collaboration with Technology, ensuring appropriate data security and role-based access control Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the School's database documentatio Requirements / Qualifications Required Qualifications/Educational Background and/or Experience Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Ability to individually manage and complete major projects Experience as a registrar in a school setting or database manager; experience with Blackbaud databases is desirable High proficiency with technology, including Google Apps, educational databases, including SIS/LMS experience Strong orientation to customer service Strong written and oral communication, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills Interest in creating greater efficiencies in data systems Ability to formulate and enforce business practices to create uniformity and consistency of data Commitment to detail in multiple systems to keep data integrity within and across systems Follow through with immediate response and completion of tasks.
