Job description

Dexian Government Solutions is recruiting for a Database Administrator IV to support our contract at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) GSP TO7 in ATAMMC, Fort Belvoir, VA.
Location: 9300 DeWitt Loop, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060
Position Overview:
  • The Database Administrator - Level IV provides senior oversight and management of all database systems supporting ATAMMC operations, coordinates database administrators, and drives compliance with DHA and DoD database security standards.
  • Contract Support Hours: Monday-Friday, 0700-1500.

Job Duties:
  • Oversee the deployment and daily administration of database management systems, ensuring their integrity, security, and availability align with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with architecture and engineering to define data requirements, model data flows, and evaluate new software products.
  • Perform system-level maintenance and upgrades to maintain a secure and operational posture.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including SOPs, maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles for all database systems.
  • Coordinate and manage TO Contractor database administrators.
  • Manage all aspects of database systems, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and monitoring.
  • Develop and uphold database management standards and procedures based on industry best practices.
  • Administer database security, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and user permissions.
  • Implement database encryption as required by policy or law.
  • Apply and document compliance with security standards such as DISA STIG and Security Requirements Guides (SRG).
  • Manage all database backup, verification, restoration, and archiving processes.
  • Assist in developing and testing IT contingency plans to ensure database recoverability and integrity.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of database incident and problem resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and developers on migrations, troubleshooting, and data expertise.

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ Years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency in database administration.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Management, or related field, and/or equivalent years of experience.
  • Experience deploying and administering enterprise database management systems including Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle Database.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Experience implementing database security including RBAC, encryption, and DISA STIG compliance.
  • Experience leading and coordinating teams of database administrators.

Required to Start:
  • Certification Requirements: a Current IAT III Certification is required to Start.
  • Clearance Requirements: a Current/Active DOD Secret Clearance is required to Start
