Job description

Position Summary
Homes with Hope is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Donor & Engagement Coordinator to provide administrative, fundraising, finance and event support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative nonprofit environment and wants to play a meaningful role in supporting efforts to end homelessness and food insecurity throughout Fairfield County.
The Development & Engagement Coordinator serves as an important point of contact for the organization, working closely with the President & CEO, Chief of Staff, CFO, program staff, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this position supports the organization's fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach efforts and will gradually assume increasing responsibility in these areas.
Primary Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising
  • Maintain the organization's Salesforce donor database, ensuring donor records are accurate and current.
  • Enter donations, deposit checks, update constituent records, and prepare donor acknowledgements.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure all charitable contributions - including donor-advised funds (DAFs), stock gifts, foundation grants, and other third-party donations- are accurately recorded, reconciled, acknowledged, and maintained within Salesforce.
  • Generate donor reports, mailing lists, and fundraising analytics.
  • Assist with donor cultivation, stewardship, prospect research, and donor communications.
  • Support annual fundraising campaigns, appeals, and other development initiatives.

Fundraising Mailings
  • Create and segment mailing lists for fundraising campaigns.
  • Review and clean mailing lists to ensure data accuracy.
  • Coordinate the printing, production, assembly, and mailing of four annual fundraising appeals.
  • Track campaign results and maintain accurate donor records within Salesforce.

Events & Community Engagement
Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of Homes with Hope fundraising and community events, including:
  • Stand Up for Homes with Hope
  • Gather 'Round the Table
  • Volunteer Appreciation events
  • Community outreach initiatives

Provide on-site support before, during, and after events.
Administrative Support
Provide administrative support to the President & CEO and Chief of Staff.
Prepare correspondence, reports, and other organizational documents.
Pick up mail from PO Box at Post Office
Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Collaboration
Collaborate with the President & CEO, Chief of Staff, and program staff to support organizational goals.
Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission of Homes with Hope.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in fundraising, nonprofit administration, donor relations, or administrative support preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is preferred; Salesforce training will be provided.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
