Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our transactional database systems, including environments utilizing SQL Server replication. In this role, you will lead and mentor a small team of report developers, provide architectural guidance for SQL‑related development, and participate in the pull‑request and code‑review process for all database changes.

This is a high‑impact leadership position with the opportunity to influence long‑term data architecture, performance strategy, and governance. You will work closely with development, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, availability, and optimal performance across the organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain SQL Server environments to ensure reliability, performance, and data integrity
  • Manage and optimize transactional replication and other data distribution mechanisms
  • Lead performance tuning efforts including query optimization, indexing, and configuration improvements
  • Provide architectural guidance on database design, schema structure, and storage strategies
  • Mentor and oversee report developers supporting SQL‑based reporting and Power BI solutions
  • Review and approve SQL code changes within the pull‑request and source‑control workflow
  • Collaborate with software developers to ensure efficient database interaction within applications
  • Support data modeling for reporting, analytics, and operational systems
  • Monitor database performance and proactively identify optimization opportunities
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to data systems, reporting, or performance
  • Establish best practices for database development, change management, and deployments
  • Ensure data accuracy and governance across reporting systems

Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years administering Microsoft SQL Server as a DBA
  • Strong experience with performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and execution plans
