Overview

Determines strategy and direction of all back end website development of Paychex public facing website, managing dev operations, Cloudflare, and Drupal for functionality, performance and user satisfaction. Validates requirements and performs analysis and design for system improvements and new applications.


Responsibilities
  • Determines strategic direction and manages the complex program changes using proprietary languages to translate specifications and / or requirements into code. Builds assets in a Drupal, develops work flows and assists with data capture templates to manage enterprise content and deliver to website properties.
  • Defines development tasks and provides time estimates to aid in scheduling. Assigns and coordinates tasks of other back end developers. Monitors progress against task estimates to provide status. Responsible for the communication of department project activities and status.
  • Recognizes proprietary code, process, and / or standard inefficiencies and makes suggestions for improvement, if applicable. Complies with and contributes to standards and procedures to ensure development consistency (e.g. programming standards, change management, version control).
  • Applies web specific technical skills to independently produce deliverables (i.e. specifications, program changes, unit test scripts, documentation, etc.).
  • Acquires and utilizes in-depth business knowledge to support web deliverables including, responding to questions, researching and resolving issues to provide technical support for production.
  • Works collaboratively with members of the Marketing team to devise the best technical solutions to meet product, UX and marketing needs that increase website traffic and lead generation.
  • Determines and manages the Content Management System platform (Drupal) for Paychex.com, including set up, work flows and vendor relationships.
  • Provides documentation to support website changes to ensure consistent best practices.
  • Trains and mentors all Web Developers to ensure they can work independently on web projects.
  • Supports programming changes during optimization, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and post implementation to ensure integrity of web based deliverable.
  • Manages relationship with IT by working with team members to troubleshoot back end website issues and bugs to ensure resolution.
  • Performs comprehensive analysis and design for program changes to gain and to transfer knowledge of web based asset changes. Reviews and provides input to requirements documents. Writes design documents.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position’s function.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline - Preferred
  • 5 years of experience in Related field.
  • 3 years of experience in SQL experience with query building and solid data architecture foundation and any database administration experience is useful.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $108,900 - $171,100. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
