Software Engineer - Database Developer
Location: Albuquerque, NM (On-site) | Job Type: Contract to Hire
About the Role
Join a forward-thinking engineering team at the forefront of space ground systems as a Software Engineer - Database Developer. Drive a mission-critical program from prototype to full-scale operations, leveraging your expertise to architect and optimize large-scale data systems. Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and test robust data systems for massive throughput and real-time operations
- Redesign and mature reference programs for operational rigor and mission-critical reliability
- Lead the implementation of petabyte-scale database solutions supporting continuous data accumulation
- Integrate systems for mission planning, real-time visualization, and 24/7 operations
- Partner with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable, high-performance models
- Conduct system-level risk analyses and proactively identify improvement opportunities
- Champion code reviews to ensure top-notch standards and requirement alignment
- Research and implement emerging software technologies, frameworks, and best practices
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience with large Database Management Systems (DBMS)
- Proficient in SQL and database design for high-throughput, mission-critical environments
