Job description

The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking a Data Engineer to perform a variety of duties in connection with the management of SharePoint sites and the preparation of high-profile business intelligence documents and dashboards for FAA senior leaders, Lines of Businesses, or other external groups. The position will be supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Central Service Area (CSA) NISC support team with the goal of providing outstanding customer service to FAA customers, receiving NISC services throughout the central service area. This position is based in Fort Worth, Texas and is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the NISC mission.

Primary Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Support through data reports/analytics by developing processes and procedures to align with automation, streamlining and efficiency initiatives
  • Develop business intelligence reporting systems such as Tableau, Business Objects, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint and other Office products
  • Design visual and interactive tools and dashboards tailored to organization requirements
  • Develop databases that support web applications and web sites
  • Analyze users' needs to implement Web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity
  • Write, design, edit web page content, or direct others producing content
  • Design and implement dashboards and reports using Tableau Server
  • Translate business requirements into the design and implementation of features and functionality required to deliver the required results
  • Assist with development of internal organization policies and procedures, which affect cross-functional activities and best practices
  • Demonstrate independent ability to research, study, workflow and other means implementing automated processes
  • ManageSharePoint site and access shared drives to manage high priority projects and programs

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related analytical field. Experience in lieu of degree considered.
  • Experience with managing multiple Databases
  • Experience working with Tableau reports and dashboards
  • Proficiency in data visualization, dashboard design and workflow
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite & SharePoint
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and database design principles
  • Skilled in relational databases, SQL, and API-based data querying
  • Experience developing predictive algorithms, image classifiers, object detectors, and others
  • Proficiency in data visualization and graphical applications (Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience with major data science languages such as R and Python
  • Ability to manage and merge disparate data sources using R, Python, or SQL
  • Ability to get/maintain Public Trust clearance

  • Exceptional coordination and collaboration skills
  • Track record of active learning and creative problem solving
  • Familiarity using GIT, SVN, Jira, or other version control technologies
  • Experience with Azure cloud data analytics tools
