Job description

We are looking for a Frontend Developer to design and build an interactive dashboard for industrial data visualization that integrates with an Apache NiFi backend. This role will focus on developing a dynamic, canvas-based interface that enables users to visualize and interact with real-time data from industrial systems, including PLCs, databases, APIs, and IoT devices.
The ideal candidate will have experience building interactive dashboards, drag-and-drop interfaces, and real-time data visualizations, with the ability to integrate frontend applications with backend data services.
Key Responsibilities:
Frontend Development:
  • Design and develop an interactive canvas-based dashboard with draggable, resizable components.
  • Implement grid-based layouts with snap-to-grid alignment and multi-select grouping capabilities.
  • Build reusable UI components for different datapoint types, including:
    • Database connections.
    • PLC connections.
    • Kepware/OPC connections.
    • Web API integrations.
    • Manual/static datapoints.
  • Implement dynamic styling and visual indicators based on real-time data values.
Dashboard & UI Functionality:
  • Develop features such as:
    • Drag-and-drop component placement.
    • Resizable dashboard elements.
    • Multi-select and grouping of datapoints.
    • Undo/redo functionality.
  • Implement inline configuration interfaces for datapoints, allowing users to configure:
    • Data source connections.
    • Refresh rates.
    • Data filters.
    • Manual data inputs.
Data Integration:
  • Integrate frontend applications with Apache NiFi backend APIs to fetch live data.
  • Implement real-time data updates and manual refresh capabilities.
  • Handle both live streaming data and manually entered values.
State Management & Persistence:
  • Manage application state, including dashboard layouts, datapoint configurations, and data updates.
  • Implement functionality to save and load dashboard layouts and configurations.
  • Support exporting datapoint data to Excel format.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with backend engineers to integrate frontend dashboards with NiFi data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define dashboard features and functionality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Frontend Development:
  • Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Experience building interactive dashboards or data visualization applications.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive UI design.
UI / Interaction Design:
  • Experience implementing:
    • Drag-and-drop interfaces.
    • Canvas-based or grid-based layouts.
    • Resizable components.
    • Interactive dashboards.
Data Integration:
  • Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs.
  • Experience working with real-time data streams or live data feeds.
State Management:
  • Experience managing complex frontend application state.
  • Familiarity with tools or frameworks for state management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with industrial systems, IoT platforms, or SCADA/MES environments.
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi or data pipeline platforms.
