SUMMARY
The Enterprise Data Lead Analyst uses proven database querying and analytic skills in combination with superior communication abilities to deliver relevant, timely, and insightful information to the business. This position will collaborate and communicate with all levels of management to provide reporting and critical information to support the strategic initiatives and daily operations of the bank's business lines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains knowledge of standardized department practices, documentation methodologies, and storage procedures, to ensure alignment on overall department objectives.
  • Creates analysis and visualization materials for business data, metrics, and measures which allows staff to align and track data against overall business strategies, goals, and objectives driving innovation, insight, and decision-making.
  • Designs, validates, and schedules queries and reports in various databases and reporting environments.
  • Works closely with end users and management to evolve, improve, and automate existing data processes.
  • Provides data and support in projects relating to business development, operation, risk, and other functional areas.
  • Develops specifications, documentation, and end user materials.
  • Develops core understanding of the business to consult with decision makers and provide recommendations based on knowledge of the data and business needs.
  • Documents and maps existing and desired business processes, using a consistent process mapping approach.
  • Collaborates with developers, stakeholders, and subject-matter experts (SME) to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  • Deploys reports, SQL database objects, and applications to on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Consolidates issues for further review and develop clear written recommendations that require minimal editing, then presents to and resolves issues with management.
  • Identifies and executes appropriate investigative and analytical technologies to interpret and verify results.
  • Completes validation practices with the business end-user to ensure follow-up and resolution of exceptions, including specific individual resolution, root-cause analysis, and control gap identification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Achieve level three certifications within BI environments as defined by the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE).
  • Ability to meet deadlines set-forth by management including, but not limited to: PMO initiatives, Compliance, Regulatory and Executive Mandates.
  • Advanced experience using Power BI, Power BI API's and Cmdlets, GitHub, or other business intelligence visualization tools.
  • Ability to lead department initiatives and team meetings without supervision.
  • Strong documentation and planning skills are required with the expectation to be held responsible for projected project outcomes.
  • Ability to identify and present business cases to management that benefit the department and organization.
  • Strong communication skills while maintaining a high-level of professionalism within the organization.
  • Expectation to collaborate directly with c-suite level employees on high-level banking initiatives.
  • Strong background in Python and SQL syntax and familiarity with relational database structures as well as API Integrations.
  • Knowledge and experience using Git or equivalent source control systems.
  • Highly proficient in Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio), and one or more of the following database products: MS SQL Server, IBM Netezza, IBM Sailfish, or related products.
  • Must have a good understanding of relational database concepts and strong querying skills.
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Kimball Data Warehousing and Star/Snowflake Schemas.
  • Ability to write and communicate reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with moderate mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Prioritize and work autonomously, yet collaboratively, when necessary.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
  • 7-9 years related experience, training, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience that includes business administration, mathematics, computer science, and/or statistical analytics in the banking industry preferred
