About the Job
Colossus Data Center Advisors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Associate/Manager to support our growing advisory business. This role provides oversight and execution of data center consulting projects, ensuring that client objectives are met with technical precision and strategic insight.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with adaptability, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders. This individual should be comfortable navigating complex technical challenges, synthesizing information into actionable strategies, and leading initiatives with both independence and teamwork. Clear communication, sound judgment, and a commitment to quality are critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyze architectural, electrical, and mechanical documentation to identify risks and opportunities.
  2. Review as-built drawings, equipment submittals, expansion plans, and utility capacity.
  3. Prepare targeted agendas for on-site assessments.
  4. Conduct inspections of A/E/M infrastructure and catalog critical equipment.
  5. Evaluate cooling systems, power delivery topology, fiber connectivity, and structural elements.
  6. Identify deficiencies in design, safety, security, and compliance.
  7. Map layouts and assess infrastructure for efficiency, scalability, and expansion readiness.
  8. Review mechanical and electrical systems for capacity upgrades.
  9. Evaluate monitoring/control integration potential and identify expansion opportunities.
  10. Coordinate with utilities on upgrade requirements.
  11. Work closely with internal team members to compile findings, draft client-facing reports, and deliver summarized analysis that informs strategic decision-making.
  12. Produce comprehensive Building Condition Reports including:
    • Equipment inventory and condition analysis
    • Systems and utility capacity reviews
    • Risk assessments and recommendations
    • Expansion/optimization proposals with schematics and ROM costs

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Proven experience in data center infrastructure, building systems, or related technical roles.
  3. Strong understanding of MEP systems, architectural design, and utility infrastructure.
  4. Skilled in interpreting technical documentation and schematics.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam.
  6. Demonstrated ability to manage cross-disciplinary teams and complex projects.
  7. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  8. Strong communication skills with proven ability to influence stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Certifications: PMP, RCDD, DCDC.
  2. Experience managing large-scale or hyperscale data center projects.
  3. Background coordinating with general contractors, utilities, and third-party vendors.
  4. Consulting or due diligence experience.
  5. Familiarity with HVAC, MV/LV electrical distribution, life safety, and monitoring systems.
  6. Experience with zoning, permitting, and environmental standards.
  7. Leadership skills and prior team management preferred.
