Data Analytics & Business Intelligence Manager

Casa Esperanza, Inc. is a bilingual/bicultural behavioral health treatment provider serving Boston and the Merrimack Valley. Our mission is to empower individuals and families to recover from addiction, trauma, mental illness, and other chronic medical conditions; overcome homelessness and discrimination; and achieve health and wellness through comprehensive, integrated care.

About the role

The Data Analytics & Business Intelligence Manager (DA&BIM) is responsible for the design, development, management, and optimization of organizational data systems, reporting solutions, and business intelligence tools. As part of the Information Technology Department, this position serves as the organization's subject matter expert for enterprise data management, reporting, analytics, and data warehousing initiatives across clinical, operational, financial, and administrative systems.

The DA&BIM works closely with leadership, program teams, finance, quality improvement, and external software vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable data is available to support strategic decision-making, regulatory compliance, performance measurement, and operational excellence.

This role oversees data architecture, data integration, reporting development, business intelligence solutions, and data governance activities while supporting key enterprise applications, including Netsmart myEvolv.

What you'll do
  • Data WarehouseDevelopment and Management
  • Collaborate with inter-departmental staff, technical contractors, and technology vendors to design, implement, maintain, and enhance the organization's enterprise data warehouse, data architecture, data mining, data cleansing, and other associated data pipelines.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, security, and governance across reporting environments.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance and data warehouse operations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data structures, business rules, data definitions, and reporting logic.
  • Identify opportunities to expand data aggregation (e.g., data warehousing) to integrate existing, disparate data systems (HRIS, billing, finance), reporting, dashboards, etc.
Data Management & Administration
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of organizational data systems, including Netsmart myEvolv, REDCap, and other business applications.
  • Design, develop, and manage data structures, databases, data warehouses, and reporting environments.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, consistency, and security across all systems.
  • Develop and implement data governance standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform data mining, cleansing, validation, and transformation activities.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues and system inconsistencies.
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for reporting and analytics.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations that support operational decision-making and communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Develop, automate, and maintain user-friendly reports and reporting solutions from single and multiple data sources that support clinical, operational, financial, quality improvement, compliance, research, and executive decision-making
  • Ensure reports are accurate, meaningful, and aligned with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
Data Integration & Systems Development
  • Develop and maintain integrations between enterprise systems.
  • Work with information systems leadership to design and implement enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Support upgrades, system enhancements, and implementation projects related to data management and reporting.
  • Translate raw EHR data into structured, analysis-ready datasets for research, evaluation, and operational use.
Data Analysis and Outcomes Evaluation
  • Collaborate with Research and Evaluation staff to develop analytical datasets and conduct statistical and descriptive analyses.
  • Support program evaluation activities through data preparation, validation, interpretation, reporting, and actionable recommendations for leadership and program staff.
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify reporting needs and business challenges.
  • Assist departments in defining requirements, documenting processes, and developing data-driven solutions.
  • Support quality improvement, compliance, accreditation, and performance management initiatives.
Strategic Planning & Leadership
  • Participate in strategic planning related to enterprise data management and analytics.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to reporting and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Train and support end users in accessing, interpreting, and utilizing reports and dashboards.
  • Develop documentation, data dictionaries, and reporting standards.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Education
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing, developing, and managing databases, data warehouses, and business intelligence environments.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of advanced SQL development experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience creating and maintaining Crystal Reports or comparable enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of business process analysis and improvement experience.
  • Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, R, or Python.
  • Experience extracting and transforming data from electronic health record systems
  • Experience within healthcare, behavioral health, human services, or nonprofit organizations preferred.
  • Experience with Netsmart myEvolv Electronic Health Record strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced SQL Server development and database administration.
  • Microsoft Power BI development and dashboard creation.
  • Data warehousing and ETL processes.
  • Data modeling and database design.
  • Data governance and quality management.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Compensation: $87,000-$90,000 annual salary
