Business / Systems Analyst – Accounting Systems

BL Companies is seeking a Business / Systems Analyst to support and enhance our Deltek ERP system and project financial data.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career professional who enjoys working with data, systems, and business processes. You’ll play a key role in supporting financial systems, building dashboards, and partnering with accounting, project managers, and IT to improve how we use data across the organization. This role offers strong growth potential in both technical (data, reporting, systems) and business‑facing (finance, operations) areas.

Key Responsibilities:Support & Improve Our ERP System
  • Provide day‑to‑day support for Deltek, resolving user questions and system issues
  • Track and manage support requests through to resolution
  • Work directly with Deltek support and the client relationship manager to escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues
  • Assist with user access, system configurations, and upgrades
  • Help maintain system documentation and processes
Work with Data
  • Monitor project and financial data for accuracy and consistency
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies
  • Write and maintain SQL queries to support data validation and analysis
  • Assist with data uploads, updates, and maintenance
Build Reports & Dashboards
  • Develop dashboards and reports for finance, accounting, and operations teams
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable insights
  • Help automate recurring reports and improve efficiency
  • Support leadership with improved visibility into project performance
Partner Across Teams
  • Work with project managers and accounting to support project set‑up and financial tracking
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and department subject‑matter experts to improve system use, data flow, and adoption of new functionality
  • Coordinate communication and training plans for new Deltek functionality, enhancements, and system changes, including emerging capabilities such as AI‑enabled tools
  • Partner with subject‑matter experts to ensure communications and training are accurate, timely, and aligned with business processes
  • Help manage updates to user guidance and training materials on the BL intranet
  • Act as a key link between business users, internal subject‑matter experts, technical systems, and external vendor resources
Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reporting
  • Help document processes and create user guidance materials
  • Support system enhancements, testing, and ongoing optimization
Required Qualifications & Experience:Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or related field
  • 3–7 years of experience
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
  • SQL coding and database experience
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skill
Preferred
  • Experience with Deltek (Vantagepoint or Vision) or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Exposure to project‑based or professional services environments
  • Interest in growing technical and analytical skills
