Director of Land Survey + Data Solutions - Land Surveying, Geospatial Data, Practice Growth
Lead Southwestern Pennsylvania land surveying and geospatial data initiatives supporting transportation, infrastructure, energy, municipal, utility, GIS, LiDAR, UAV/drone capture, and multidisciplinary project delivery across the greater Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania market.
In addition to supporting the Southwestern Pennsylvania market, this enterprise leadership role helps guide land surveying, GIS, and geospatial data solutions teams supporting projects and staff located throughout Pennsylvania, New York, and Fisher's broader nationwide operations. Set the strategy, financial performance, client development, project delivery standards, and team leadership for a growing survey, geomatics, mapping, GIS, LiDAR, UAV, and geospatial data solutions practice serving infrastructure, transportation, and land development markets.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the strategic direction, growth, and financial performance of the Land Survey + Data Solutions practice, delivering reliable, client-focused survey and data solutions.
  • Partner with senior leadership to execute business development strategies, secure work from existing and new clients, and support annual business plan goals.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders while identifying market opportunities and representing Fisher through industry leadership.
  • Ensure successful project delivery through accountable Project Managers, with oversight of budgets, schedules, quality, client satisfaction, proposals, and firm standards.
  • Build, lead, mentor, coach, and retain a high-performing team while collaborating across disciplines, geographies, HR, and market teams to support staffing and growth.

Requirements
What We're Looking For
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, GIS, Civil Engineering, Geography, or related field preferred; equivalent combinations of education, licensure, certifications, and progressive industry leadership experience will also be considered.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS/LS) license strongly valued for candidates overseeing licensed survey operations; GISP or related geospatial certifications highly valued for GIS/data solutions leadership candidates.
  • 15+ years of experience in technical professional services, including senior leadership responsibility for strategy, growth, financial performance, and budgets.
  • Broad knowledge of land surveying and geospatial data solutions, including boundary and topographic surveying, construction services, GIS, LiDAR, UAV/drone data capture, and emerging technologies.
  • Leadership grounded in integrity, accountability, collaboration, communication, decisive action, client relationships, ownership, and alignment with Fisher's Core Values and Clientship philosophy.
