Overview
Razorfish is looking for a Manager to join its Data Science and Analytics practice. This is an analytics, research, and consulting team that delivers data-driven insights to our clients. Each member of the team is aligned to one or more clients and works closely with other Data team members, our clients, and colleagues across other subject areas such as: Client Management, Strategy, Search, Social, Media, User Experience, and Technology.
In this role you will contribute to data-driven projects across one client accounts. You will have support from data leadership and fellow analysts.
Core areas of focus for this group include applications in measurement planning and strategy, customer segmentations, testing frameworks, measurement and optimization solutions, performance reporting and analyses, personalization, and forecasting.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the end-to-end process for data internal and external client project work
  • Understands Razorfish data capabilities and how data fits into a client's overall strategy
  • Demonstrates marketing business insight and how our data services fit into client strategies and objectives
  • Able to lead cross-capability projects and build close relationships with other disciplines
  • Leads client readouts, defines requirements and implementation of data tools and products
  • Has developed domain level experience in one or more core areas of data, including business intelligence, data visualization, forecasting, testing, or modeling to contribute to client discussions and deliverables

  • Able to independently identify key issues and objectives to focus on for internal and client needs with minimal oversight
  • Able to apply more comprehensive critical thinking to elevate either a client's: 1) marketing goals or 2) data sophistication and maturity forward. For example, a manager will show initiative in understanding strategic frameworks and how to apply them to client-specific needs.

Communication Skills
  • Is a thoughtful contributor to internal and client discussions, having synthesized input and feedback
  • Independently prepares internal and client presentations and necessary outlines
  • Owns work and delivers materials with confidence, and comfortable with supplying appropriate responses to questions that are more vague or not directly related to what was presented
  • Shows confidence in meetings offering ideas and suggestions, reflecting mastery of tasks and work
  • Comfortable with occasionally leading team discussions and able to present alternative solutions
  • Able to create client documents from scratch with little reliance on templates and minimal oversight
  • Uses standard methodologies in formatting within presentation tools (PPT, Google Slides, etc.)
  • Transforms data into visually appealing presentations with an emphasis on storytelling, adapting formats and charts as necessary

  • Is the day-to-day internal data resource while becoming the client go-to resource
  • Can lead the client through multiple programs / projects from start to finish
  • Displays professional, articulate, and mature presence in all aspects of client relationship building
  • Understands how to document and respond to client feedback and recognizes when to raise issues
  • Questions and output reflects deep knowledge of client's business - financials, industry economics, competitive dynamics, marketing channels, and client strategic issues

Tools & Techniques
  • Shows mastery of multiple data tools and platforms and techniques
  • Mastery of statistical concepts and one coding language
  • Understanding of machine learning applications and utility
  • Ability to assist in all aspects of vendor assessments
  • Proactively identifies own learning gaps and seeks to answer them through internal resources or asking experts
  • Experience working within BI/Visualizations tools
  • QA and maintains data integrity at collection, extraction, and activation point

    • Independently able to complete all steps involved in learning agendas / measurement plans
    • Is proactive in solving issues with measurement plan implementation
  • Insight Generation
    • Fluent in standard CRM key performance metrics such as, email click-through rate, offer redemption rate, incremental sales, incremental margin and approaches to measurement
    • Experience with website analytics tools
    • Independently able to derive insights from extracted and manipulated data, as well as provide recommendations to improve processes for data extraction
    • Consistently demonstrates ability to synthesize implications ("so whats?") from analysis and refine approach
