Senior Director, Data Analysis positions offered by Capital One, National Association (Plano, Texas).

Lead the adoption of Big Data tools and other developing data technologies, both proprietary and open source.

Lead the Analyst team and drive data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of Big Data technologies and development of a program to train and enhance associate skill-sets.

Create leading-edge data products that uncover opportunities for improvement.

Lead governance of our data assets, including development of a governance plan and structure.

Provide strategic leadership on large cross-functional horizontal initiatives.

Report on data analysis activities to partner groups, incorporating novel reporting and data visualization techniques.

Actively champion the usage and adoption of data tools and solutions across the Data Analyst community.

Work in an agile fashion, managing the stakeholder set and capacity for the team.

Partner with various engineering and enterprise functions in adopting and informing data flow standards across ingestion, transformation, access and publishing.

Drive data source and tool innovations based on stakeholder data needs, including adoption of cloud native technologies.

Lead the ongoing migration from an on-premise implementation to a cloud based (AWS) implementation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field and 10 years of experience in performing data analytics.

  • In lieu of a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 10 years of experience as stated, employer will accept a master's or foreign equivalent degree in the aforementioned fields and 8 years of experience as stated.

  • Also requires 8 years of experience in: leading and developing with open-source data technologies.

  • Also requires 6 years of experience managing people.

  • Position reports to Plano, Texas office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.

  • Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.

  • Eligible for employee referral program.
