Position Summary:
Securian Financial has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Snowflake Data Platform Engineer passionate about building secure, scalable, and compliant data platforms that enable enterprise-wide analytics and AI. In this role, you will design and implement data solutions that adhere to data governance standards, security policies, and industry best practices, ensuring trusted, high-quality data is available for business decision-making.
Our team partners with Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Science, and Analytics to deliver platforms and tools that power advanced analytics and AI use cases. You will lead efforts to architect and onboard new technologies, enforce governance frameworks, and ensure compliance while driving innovation.
Some of the groundbreaking technology and project opportunities include working with:
  • Cloud Data Platforms: Snowflake, AWS Redshift, RDS, Postgres
  • Data Governance & Cataloging: Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud™ (IDMC), Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC)
  • Master Data Management: Reltio MDM for authoritative data domains
  • AI Enablement: SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, Textract, etc. for AI development, MLflow for model lifecycle management

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Architect and implement secure, compliant data solutions that align with enterprise governance and security standards.
  • Direct and prioritize the engineering backlog for data platform infrastructure and tooling to include vulnerability management, tool configurations and upgrades, and level 3 incident management.
  • Champion platform selection and onboarding, ensuring adherence to data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Level 3 support for various data solutions and tools
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Governance teams to design solutions that meet business needs while enforcing security and compliance.
  • Execute proof-of-concept projects to validate new technologies and ensure they meet governance and security requirements.
  • Maintain platform security posture, addressing vulnerabilities and implementing best practices for data protection.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend solutions that balance innovation with compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience designing and building cloud-based data solutions on Snowflake data warehouse platform. A plus if experience includes Redshift, RDS, Postgres, DynamoDB, S3.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines and version control (Git/GitHub) with integrated Infrastructure-as-Code IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation) for automated provisioning and repeatable deployments
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, security policies, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience providing level-3 operation support and engineering for data tools and platforms , DevOps
  • Ability to translate governance and security requirements into technical designs.
  • Experience with application of data security and governance policy enforcement within data solutions and platforms
  • Passion for emerging trends in data platforms, analytics, and AI, with a commitment to continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience supporting Data Management platform technologies such as Informatica IDMC Platform, Informatica CDGC Data Catalog, & Reltio Master Data Management MDM.
  • AWS Certifications or experience using AWS cloud tools and services.
  • Implementing new technology platforms and AWS services or application development
  • Experience with tools supporting the implementation or operation of data platforms
  • Control-M enterprise scheduler, Integrating solutions with IIQ, Splunk Monitoring, Control-M job scheduling
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to drive to outcomes.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

#LI-Hybrid **This position will have a hybrid working arrangement, working in-office for a minimum of 3 days a week.**

$89,000.00 - $164,300.00
