"I can succeed as the Market Data Services Director at Capital Group."

As Capital Group continues to strengthen enterprise capabilities, we are investing in leadership roles that build scalable, high-performing operations across sourcing, procurement, and third-party management. The Enterprise Sourcing Office (ESO) is central to this effort, evolving how we manage demand, suppliers, and external spend. This is an opportunity to lead a critical Sourcing function and shape how ESO delivers consistent, high-quality outcomes. The Market Data Services Director will transform how we manage Market Data categories to amplify investment outcomes and firm-wide priorities. This is an opportunity to lead at scale, shaping strategy, influencing enterprise decisions, and driving measurable value across the Market Data ecosystem.

As a Director within ESO, you will lead the global strategy and delivery of the Market Data Services categories, including real-time and reference data that support investment decision-making and risk analysis, with accountability for category strategy, vendor management, and sourcing service delivery across an enterprise-wide portfolio.

You will develop and implement coordinated Market Data Services (MDS) category strategies aligned to enterprise priorities, balancing cost, risk, and quality, and directing the evaluation of data and research providers, platforms, data infrastructure, and services based on usage, market dynamics, and strategic value.

You will provide leadership for the most complex and high-impact supplier engagements, including strategic partnerships with key data providers, guiding negotiations, shaping commercial strategies, and strengthening supplier performance through structured engagement and governance, while ensuring alignment with relevant licensing and risk considerations.

You will serve as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, influencing how Market Data Services are sourced and optimized across the firm, while challenging demand, managing significant market data budgets, building financial insights into consumption patterns, and applying those insights to optimize cost, value, and overall spend. You will partner across business groups to ensure aligned and effective engagement with strategic suppliers, contributing to a coordinated approach in how Capital Group manages key supplier relationships.

You will direct the evolution of an integrated service delivery and supplier engagement model across MDS, ensuring scalable operations while enhancing platform, data, and workflow capabilities and building leadership capability and high-performing teams.

"I am the person Capital Group is looking for."

  • You bring extensive experience leading Market Data categories, sourcing, and supplier management organizations, with a strong track record of developing and implementing enterprise-level strategies and leading change.

  • You have led complex supplier negotiations and managed strategic supplier relationships, including engagements with significant financial and operational impact.

  • You are effective at partnering with senior business leaders, influencing decisions, and aligning sourcing strategies to broader enterprise priorities.

  • You are an experienced people leader who builds strong teams, develops leadership capability, and creates an environment where individuals can perform at a high level and grow.

  • You bring a strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to assess market conditions, evolve sourcing approaches, and drive long-term value across the supplier base.

  • You have a demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing and supplier strategies that align with enterprise priorities and business needs.

  • You have experience leading complex, high-value negotiations and managing strategic supplier relationships at scale.

  • You have a strong understanding of research platforms, data services, supplier lifecycle management, and third-party risk and governance practice, and market licensing and usage considerations.

  • You have a proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders to influence demand, sourcing decisions, and third-party cost optimization.

  • You have strong leadership capability, with experience building and developing high-performing, multi-level teams.

  • You have a deep understanding of sourcing disciplines, including RFP/RFI processes, contract negotiation, supplier lifecycle management, and risk mitigation.

  • You have strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders and present effectively at executive levels.

  • You have proficiency with sourcing tools, data analysis, and technologies that support sourcing real-time and reference data delivering, reporting, and decision-making.
