Project Overview:

Bechtel has a strong commitment to protecting people and the environment as part of its mission, and is known for industry leadership in Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H).  ES&H teams are comprised of three distinct disciplines that support our ES&H Management System and processes at project sites and offices. These teams include environmental scientists, safety professionals, and industrial hygiene scientists. Collectively, they provide technical guidance and perform planning, risk assessment, inspections and monitoring, training, and data management.

Job Summary:

The ESH Data Analyst manages ES&H statistical reporting for the project, analyzing data to identify trends, correlations and improvement opportunities. This role supports process and system improvements related to reporting and preparing documentation and dashboards using Power Bi or similar tools and handles data analysis and communication tasks as assigned. This position reports to the project ESH Manager and supports the ESH team. #LI-AE2

Major Responsibilities:

   Research, gather, and analyze data to prepare reports on Bechtel and other project stakeholders' ESH statistical performance.
   Analyze data to aid in benchmarking and use in various project level reporting.
   Maintains the ESH statistical data for a given area of responsibility which includes entering, sorting, and manipulating data in a web-based data records management system and other project-specific databases.
   Prepare confidential reports that may include personal injury data.
   Ensure confidentiality of data prepared and reported as necessary.
   Monitor, review, and evaluate governmental regulatory data reporting and their impact on Bechtel statistical reports.
   Create and support processes to fulfil reporting requirements for government, customers, and Bechtel.
   Manage user authorization/access to ESH software and Corporate ESH safety data system.
   Train personnel in system requirements, methodology, and use of the ESH software.
   Recommend improvements to streamline reporting processes including digital tools and data records management system.
   Participate in ESH meetings to discuss and provide further analysis on statistical findings.
   Prepare reports for submission to regulatory agencies (e.g., submission of the OSHA 200 log).
   Help develop ESH initiatives and awareness campaigns with performance trend and other related information. 

Education and Experience Requirements:
  •   A Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university or college related to data management, analytics or computer science with 2 years of relevant technical experience; or an Associate's degree related to ES&H with 4 or more years of relevant technical experience. 
Required Knowledge and Skills:

   Knowledge and understanding in the field of data collecting, analysis, and statistics.
   Proficiency and experience in researching published industry statistics for comparison and benchmarking purposes.
   Attention to detail and thorough proofreading skills.
   Knowledge and understanding of data management systems and computer hardware/software, including Power Bi, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
   Excellent oral and written communication skills and diverse report development experience.
   Computer skills for preparing presentations, data management, and report preparation.
   Adaptable to work in a project (site) environment.

Additional Qualifications
   Previous experience with data analysis and administrative reporting subjects. 
   Knowledge of regulatory recordkeeping requirements (e.g., definition of a recordable, restricted or lost-time case as used by regulatory agencies as exemplified by OSHA, HSE, and EPA).
