Data Scientist Sr Principal
Deliver insights to help our clients turn data into action as a Senior Data Scientist at GDIT. Your work will provide transformative solutions to our clients big-data obstacles and help advance the mission. Here, you can make a meaningful impact on our clients mission and on your career.

HOW A DATA SCIENTIST SR PRINCIPAL WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Performs scientific work associated with the analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets; develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges

  • Investigates, analyzes, and formulates automated search and reporting from the customer environment or enclave.

  • Evaluates, tests, and recommends various AI/ML models and tools, including Cloud based module, third party module and open-source products.

  • Develop user interface and dashboard for search capability as well as reporting and monitoring capability within hybrid cloud environment or customer provided cloud environment.

  • Ensures that cybersecurity plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with cybersecurity standards.

  • Identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations and suggests procedures to halt future incidents and improve security

  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.

  • Other duties as assigned related to developing data science and AI/ML initiatives.


WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelors of Science
Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience
Security Clearance Level: Minimum Secret Clearance
Travel: Occasional travel may be required
Location: Hybrid
US Citizenship Required

Required Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Python programming skills with strong familiarity with AI/ML modules
  • Proficiency in machine learning algorithms
  • Proficiency in data modeling and visualizations
  • Proven experience as a software developer, particularly with language models
  • Working experience with Windows and Linux development environments
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to conduct presentations to various audiences, including senior leadership
  • Must be able to document design, pseudo codes, and flow chart for review and approval
  • Familiarity with Data Science related Mathematics including statistics and probability, linear algebra and calculus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop AI/ML tool based on customer requirements
  • Communicate and work with team members to meet contractor obligations
  • Engage with customer stakeholders and PMO team on a regular basis
  • Lead and devise innovative methods and techniques to leverage AI/ML to improve risk assessments
  • Provide input to project planning and weekly reports
  • Document design, tools requirements and user guide
  • Setup and provide tool demos to stakeholders

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $152,150 - $205,850. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
