Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Science Specialist to join our talented team supporting a critical mission for an Intelligence Community customer. The successful candidate will apply advanced analytical techniques to large-scale structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data to support mission operations and enable informed decision making.

The Data Science Specialist will leverage technical expertise in software engineering, data analysis, data integration, and data modeling to develop innovative analytic capabilities supporting complex customer requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with government stakeholders and technical teams to identify meaningful relationships within data, develop scalable analytic solutions, and deliver mission-focused recommendations.

The Data Science Specialist will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Analyze structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets to identify entities, relationships, patterns, and trends.
  • Develop software and analytic solutions supporting enterprise data analysis and mission requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes.
  • Support data migration and data warehousing initiatives across multiple enterprise systems.
  • Develop scripts and applications to automate data processing and improve analytic workflows.
  • Perform data modeling, database design, and data quality analysis.
  • Design and implement REST-based services and data interfaces supporting enterprise applications.
  • Utilize object-oriented design principles and modern software development methodologies to develop scalable applications.
  • Collaborate with government customers, engineers, and software developers to define technical requirements and implement analytic solutions.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to government stakeholders.
  • Support multiple concurrent technical efforts in a fast-paced mission environment.
Qualifications

Required

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with relevant polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another related technical discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience analyzing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets.
  • Experience developing software applications using one or more modern programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
  • Experience with object-oriented analysis, design, and programming.
  • Experience with data migration, data transformation, and enterprise data integration.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and database modeling.
  • Experience utilizing data exchange technologies such as XML, JSON, XSLT, JDBC, SOAP, and REST.
  • Experience designing and developing database-driven applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.

Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
