Job description

Our US team partners with major retailers, banks and other enterprise clients across the country, embedding AI and data science solutions into everyday business processes. As we scale our AI Solutions capability, we're looking for a Director, Data Science & AI to lead the design and delivery of production-grade AI solutions from our growing Austin hub.

As Director, Data Science, you'll lead the technical direction for our Consumer & Retail data science team, managing a team of data scientists to build AI applications that solve real client problems. You'll combine deep technical expertise with people leadership, translating emerging AI capability into practical, production-ready solutions, while contributing to business development and building capability across the team.

How you will make an impact?

  • Technical leadership: Lead the design and architecture of complex AI solutions, evaluating alternative approaches and setting technical standards for production-grade AI development across the team
  • Team development: Manage a team of data scientists, providing coaching, mentorship and performance management, and fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous learning
  • Solution delivery: Oversee end-to-end delivery of AI solutions from design through to production deployment, balancing technical excellence with commercial pragmatism
  • Business development: Contribute to technical scoping, effort estimation and client presentations during pre-sales, translating complex AI concepts into business value
  • Strategic contribution: Shape the direction of the AI Solutions team, identify opportunities for reusable components, and stay connected to the wider AI ecosystem

The superpowers you will bring to the team

  • Technical depth: 7+ years' experience in data science, AI/ML solution delivery or technical consulting, with a track record of leading teams to deliver production-grade AI/ML solutions
  • GenAI expertise: Strong Python skills and practical experience building with frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph, with a deep understanding of GenAI and LLM applications
  • Cloud fluency: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), containerization and cloud-native development
  • People leadership: A track record of coaching and developing data scientists, building team capability and culture
  • Commercial acumen: Experience with effort estimation, scoping and contributing to business development activities
