Job description

Markon is seeking a Data Scientist to support our Fort Meade Customer with the development of data analytics and the automation of analytic workflows for data parsing. The position focuses on building reliable, repeatable data pipelines and analytics using Python, with an emphasis on understanding data flows and tool-based processing in a mission environment.


  • Develop data analytics solutions to process and analyze X14 data.
  • Design and automate analytic workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and repeatability.
  • Implement and maintain data parsing and transformation pipelines.
  • Apply knowledge of data flows to ensure accurate ingestion, processing, and output of data.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and frameworks to support analytics development and automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and operational needs.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize analytic workflows and data pipelines.

Required

  • TS/SCI with Active Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for data parsing, analytics development, and workflow automation.
  • Experience developing automated analytic pipelines for structured and semi-structured data.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data flow architectures, including data ingestion, transformation, enrichment, and output.
  • Experience working with X14 data or similar mission-specific data formats.
  • Familiarity with data parsing tools and frameworks used in enterprise or mission environments.
  • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing analytic workflows for performance and reliability.
  • Ability to analyze data requirements and translate them into repeatable analytic solutions.
  • Experience validating data accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout processing pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based environments and command-line tools.
  • Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to document analytic workflows, data flows, and processing logic.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical stakeholders and explain analytic results.

USD $120,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.
The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
