Job Summary:

The Data & Platform Architect role is crucial for shaping the strategic direction of Lilly's cloud platform, focusing on AI innovation and contract management. The position involves defining architectural vision, leading AI and automation initiatives, and collaborating with business and technical teams to enhance operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
• Define and lead the strategic data & architectural vision & direction for Lilly's contract management and rebate platform, ensuring alignment with LVA business objectives and enterprise technology standards.
• Serve as Lilly’s primary technical voice with IntegriChain, actively influencing the vendor’s product roadmap and pushing for capabilities that advance Lilly’s operational and AI/automation goals.
• Partner with LVA business collaborators, T@L product managers, and product owners to turn complex contract and payment challenges into clear technical requirements, platform enhancements, and long-term roadmap priorities.
• Lead architecture reviews, risk assessments, and governance forums for the platform, ensuring solutions are SOX-audit-compliant, scalable, resilient, and secure.
• Partner with key business collaborators to identify and prioritize AI and automation opportunities across LVA processes, from contracts and formulary analysis to rebate reconciliation.
• Architect and be responsible for the implementation of AI-powered solutions and integrations with the ICyte platform, SAP, and other Lilly systems.
• Integrate Lilly agentic AI workflows with IntegriChain workflows that accelerate interpretation of complex contract and government pricing data, reducing manual effort and supporting Lilly's growing sales volume.
• Champion adoption of AI-driven features across adjacent LVA systems; influence vendor development investments toward intelligent automation priorities.
• Define and govern application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure architecture across the LVA platform ecosystem, including cloud-native integrations with upstream and downstream enterprise systems.
• Establish and enforce architectural standards, patterns, and best practices; drive continuous improvement through modernization, cloud optimization, and technical debt reduction.
• Provide architectural guidance throughout the product lifecycle; anticipate and resolve complex technical, operational, or business problems that impact LVA's contract management capability.
• Translate business needs and automation opportunities into a coherent technical roadmap that can be communicated clearly to engineering teams, data engineers, policy experts, and senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, solution design, or technical leadership roles
• Demonstrated experience architecting SaaS and/or cloud-based solutions, preferably on AWS
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns including microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture, MCP, and agentic workflows
• Proven ability to influence external technology vendors or SaaS providers, including shaping product roadmaps without direct authority.
Preferred:
• Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or government pricing systems particularly in revenue management, contract management, or rebate processing
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI, AI/ML, solution design, or automation within enterprise SaaS environments.
• Experience designing and leading data pipelines for analytics and reporting; Power BI experience is a plus
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional preferred)
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD.
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (SOX, HIPAA, or similar) is a plus; Lilly will provide domain onboarding for the right candidate
• Shown ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical collaborators, including senior IT and business leaders.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to navigate multi-functional, matrixed organizations
