About the Role

The Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s board-level financial reporting, and month-end close reporting, inclusive of Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) preparation. This role partners closely with accounting, finance, operational leaders, and regional CFOs to develop a clear, data-driven narrative explaining monthly financial performance.

Additionally, this role supports the annual audit process, prepares consolidated reporting schedules, and is responsible for debt compliance and reporting requirements related to the company’s credit facility.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting foundation, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex financial information into executive-ready insights that tell the story behind the numbers.

POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting & Board Reporting

  • Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
  • Partner with Finance to develop and maintain executive-level board decks, including KPIs, financial trends, variance analysis, and performance commentary.
  • Partner with regional CFOs to synthesize financial and operational results into a cohesive, accurate narrative explaining what occurred during the reporting period and identify underlying operational and financial drivers impacting results.
  • Draft comprehensive monthly and quarterly MD&A narratives and collaborate with operational leaders to clearly articulate drivers of revenue, margin, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Provide data-driven insights into performance trends, risks, and forward-looking considerations.
  • Present financial results and insights to senior leadership as needed and lead the monthly budget versus actual financial reviews with key operational leaders.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with strategic objectives and operational performance metrics.

Month-end Close & Accounting Oversight

  • Support and coordinate the month-end close process in partnership with the accounting team.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance.
  • Analyze variances between actual results, budget, and forecast.
  • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls are maintained.

Audit & Consolidation Support

  • Assist with preparation of consolidated financial schedules and supporting documentation for annual audit and interim reviews.
  • Compile and reconcile audit support schedules, including roll-forwards and variance explanations.
  • Coordinate with accounting team members and external auditors to respond to audit requests.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of consolidated reporting packages.

Debt & Compliance Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain debt compliance schedules and covenant calculations in accordance with credit agreement requirements.
  • Coordinate timely submission of lender reporting packages, including financial statements, compliance certificates, and supporting schedules.
  • Monitor covenant performance and provide early identification of potential risks or breaches.
  • Partner with the finance and treasury function on forecasting covenant compliance and liquidity planning.

Ad-Hoc Analysis & Reporting

  • Develop custom financial models and ad hoc reports for leadership and board requests.
  • Own all internal and external reporting requests by location and on a consolidated enterprise level.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or MBA (strongly preferred).
  • CPA License (strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, preferably in healthcare (required).
  • Experience preparing board-level reporting materials required.
  • Experience supporting annual audits and consolidated reporting preferred.
  • Experience with debt covenant calculations and lender reporting strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and healthcare financial dynamics.
  • Sage Intacct – General ledger, multi-entity consolidation, dimensional reporting, and financial statement design (required).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint – Complex financial modeling, pivot tables, Power Query, and data analysis (required).
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, consolidation and analysis (required).
  • Understanding credit agreements, leverage ratios, and covenant compliance (required).
  • Ability to synthesize large datasets into executive-ready materials.
