What does a data quality control manager do?

A Data Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within an organization. They develop and implement data quality standards, monitor data processes, and coordinate with different teams to resolve data issues. Their work involves setting up quality assurance protocols, conducting audits, and using tools to track and improve data integrity. Their ultimate goal is to make sure that business decisions are based on high-quality, trustworthy data.

Job description

ABOUT HEDRICK BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION

Founded in 1979, Hedrick Brothers Construction is a family-owned commercial general contractor headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida, with offices in Winter Park, Stuart, and Miami. For more than 47 years, we have built across Florida in hospitality, multi-family, industrial, healthcare, and the public sector, with project values ranging from $5M to $160M.

Our work is guided by our GRIT values - Growth, Resourcefulness, Integrity, and Team - and a culture built on doing right by our people, our trade partners, and our clients.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Quality Control Manager leads the development, implementation, and enforcement of Hedrick Brothers Construction's Quality Control Program across all active projects - ensuring that work is built in compliance with construction documents, approved submittals, and company standards from the first installation through final closeout.

Working closely with the VP of Commercial Operations, project managers, and superintendents, this role sets the standard for quality on every project and drives a culture of accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

QC Program Leadership

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HBC's Quality Control Program, including checklists, inspection standards, documentation protocols, and non-conformance procedures.
  • Work with the VP of Commercial Operations to build out the QC department, processes, and procedures company-wide.
  • Establish and enforce QC standards across all active projects, ensuring consistency regardless of project type, size, or sector.
  • Develop and deliver QC training sessions for project managers, superintendents, and field staff.

Field Inspections & Documentation

  • Review plans and shop drawings for compliance with construction documents and QC Guidelines.
  • Inspect all installations on assigned projects for compliance with QC checklists and construction documents.
  • Ensure final plans and as-built drawings are updated to reflect all building components installed.
  • Coordinate and advise the superintendent and project manager on items found to be out of compliance.

Pre-Install & Submittal Coordination

  • Lead pre-install meetings prior to trades commencing work and follow up as new employees are added to projects to ensure all installation, mixing, processes, and products comply with approved submittals.
  • Create and/or assist the project manager in generating RFIs as needed with possible solution recommendations.
  • Maintain positive communication with subcontractors, the office, owners, design teams, and inspectors.

Team & Trade Oversight

  • Oversee trade contractors for specific scopes of work related to QC, sequencing, and schedule.
  • Assist superintendents as needed to ensure work is always supervised.
  • Direct and mentor Quality Control Assistants across active projects.

WHAT YOU BRING

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with a minimum of 6-10 years of construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of all CSI MasterFormat divisions (Divisions 1-16) and construction methods, materials, and sequences required.

Certifications & Licenses

  • OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Florida driver's license required.

Skills & Tools

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Procore; experience with QC documentation platforms preferred.
  • Strong leadership, written communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and enforce standards across diverse teams.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Primarily sedentary work performed in an office environment.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate computer equipment.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive compensation
  • Profit sharing and bonus opportunities tied to company and project performance
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Company-provided life insurance plus short- and long-term disability
  • 401(k) with company match
  • PTO, paid holidays, and paid parental leave
  • Wellness program reimbursement
  • Annual stipend for company-branded apparel
  • Ongoing training and advancement opportunities
  • A GRIT culture that invests in people, not just performance
