This Opportunity:

The Project Manager I is an entry to mid-level project management position responsible for overseeing projects from planning through closing and ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering unmatched service. Provides overall project management support for assigned projects under the direction of appointed senior project team leadership. This position ensures the safe and on-time delivery of high-quality installation services to the customer while managing schedule, productivity, and budget that align with the contract documents.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety is the main fiber of our network. Follow Safe work practices that conform to the Company’s Safety program and customer site policies and procedures.
  • Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard Company culture.
  • Plan and organize assigned project(s) under the direction of a Senior Project Manager or Program Manager.
  • Supervise and direct project activities, including delegating tasks to allocated Field Engineers and Project Coordinators, planning, coordination, proactively identifying issues and logically mitigating / solving problems, protect and maintain the integrity of all company / business unit policies, procedures and standards.
  • Monitor daily production activities with the onsite Field Supervisors and Project Superintendents to ensure the project remains on target within schedule and budget.
  • Prepare monthly job cost forecasts, progress billings and other project related financial documentation and reporting under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager or Program Manager.
  • Partner with Procurement, Field Operations and others ensuring proper materials, equipment and workforce are available.
  • Ensure the proper maintaining and accurate status of all project RFI, submittal, change order request and other logs.
  • Manage project scheduling requirements to control costs and meet contractual requirements.
  • Responsible for preparing complete and accurate change order request estimates on assigned projects including scope narratives and attachment of any required back-up under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager or Program Manager.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships; streamline project activities for efficiencies; communicate with staff and upper management to keep all informed of customer and job requirements.
  • Participates in and represent the company in project meetings under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager or Program Manager.
  • Reviews all official project document prepared by allocated Field Engineers, Project Coordinators and Superintendents prior to submission on assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with QA/QC to ensure alignment with quality plan requirements.
  • Manages customer acceptance and signoff.
  • Provides technical assistance and support in negotiating contracts and change orders as required.

  • Ability to work under time constraints and pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude while managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required for this position.
  • Proficient in using a computer and business / industry applications - Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.), Bluebeam, Procore, Textura and others.
  • Highly experienced at understanding complex and detailed, design drawings, specifications and other documents with ability to clearly identify specific scope of work and requirements. 

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry in cost estimating, field leadership or project management role. Experience in managing and leading large-scale structured cabling installations in complex project environments such as hyperscale data centers, advanced manufacturing, or other critical infrastructure facilities is preferred.
  • A combination of training, education, and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Preferred professional certifications:
  1. OSHA-30 Hour certification (if not certified at time of hire, certifications must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position may be assigned resources to direct on a project-by-project basis.

Work Location and Travel:

This position is performed primarily on active construction project sites or customer operated facilities. This role can expect up to ≈25% work related travel.
