Job description

Amazon Web Services is seeking a detail oriented, customer obsessed Program Manager for its Infrastructure Operations team.
Our Program Managers are able to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. If you have previous project engineering experience, are ready to take on challenges, open minded, appreciate team comradely, have an occasional sense of humor and want to help Amazon raise the bar, then this role is for you!
Successful candidates are natural self-starters who possess the ability to design, develop and deploy innovative solutions to address operational challenges while driving these solutions to completion. This role requires both independent contribution as well as the ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams (internal operations, engineering, legal, finance, procurement, environmental/health/safety, etc.). This individual has strong communication skills, is organized and thrive in ambiguity.
The scope of role encompasses program management of capital expense (CAPEX) and/or operational expense (OPEX) projects within data center operations. The scope of projects will include but not be limited to the improvement of electrical, mechanical, fire detection, building improvements, vendor (partner) management, and cluster wide maintenance coordination. An understanding of these systems is necessary, as the individual will be expected to identify areas for improvement as well as act on data provided from other teams and organizations.
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
PDX is an AWS GovCloud region. As required by our contracts with the federal government, effective February 24, 2026, logical access to the AWS GovCloud region will be restricted to Amazon employees who are U.S. Citizens. (GovCloud may NOT be accessed from outside of the United States).
Key job responsibilities
Manage requirements, budget, design, and implementation of assigned projects
Assess annual maintenance program requirements and build a rolling 18 month project forecast
Facilitate creation of SOWs with partner teams to be included in contract documents including RFQ/RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing.
Evaluate performance and work product of on-site partners and escalate issues through Amazon leadership.
Identify and communicate needs for design improvements.
Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality with, operational teams, cross functional amazon team members, and partners.
Lead and coordinate design and execution efforts between internal teams and outside partners including equipment specifications, material flow, process design, and site layout.
Evaluate project risks and issues and propose actionable resolutions.
Build strong working relationships with data center leadership teams across multiple sites as well as other internal stakeholders (operations, finance, safety, security, legal, procurement).
General knowledge of data center operations and facility management.
Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
Ability to follow accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
Proactively and continually improve your level of knowledge about data center relevant technologies.
