Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world, Watsco, Inc. We proudly distribute the Mitsubishi and Bryant brands of HVAC equipment, as well as a full line of HVAC residential and commercial parts, supplies, and accessories. We have locations throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Territory Manager to support our Warwick, RI branch. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position
Position Summary:
Homans Associates is seeking a driven and customer-focused Territory Manager to grow sales and strengthen customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing and managing existing accounts, and serving as a trusted resource on HVAC equipment, parts, supplies, and accessories. The Territory Manager will work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide product solutions, negotiate sales opportunities, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines strong sales and relationship-building skills with HVAC industry knowledge and a proven ability to achieve or exceed sales and profitability goals in a competitive market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travel through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  • Display or demonstrate product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Negotiate pricing based on what the market will bear while maintaining profit goals of the company.
  • Achieve or exceed territory sales budget as well as contributing additional sales to help achieve overall regional sales budgets.
  • Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep expense accounts.
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts along with providing information to help set usage levels.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries and products.
  • Attend trade shows.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Wholesale Distribution Sales experience.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC equipment, parts supplies and accessories service and installation.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse, purchasing, data processing, paper flow and operations procedures.
  • Must have the ability to negotiate transactions on an intra- and inter-company level. Must possess the ability to mediate situations among customers as they arise.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Beginner to intermediate user of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license along with continuous and current vehicle insurance based on Company policy.
