Job description

FactSet creates flexible, open data and software solutions for over 200,000 investment professionals worldwide, providing instant access to financial data and analytics that investors use to make crucial decisions.
At FactSet, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They express how we act and operate, serve as a compass in our decision-making, and play a big role in how we treat each other, our clients, and our communities. We believe that the best ideas can come from anyone, anywhere, at any time, and that curiosity is the key to anticipating our clients' needs and exceeding their expectations.
FactSet is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead complex, client-facing implementations of FactSet's Buy Side product suite for Performance, Attribution, GIPS, Risk, Quant, and reporting programs. In this role, you will serve as FactSet's primary program management owner, partnering directly with client project managers to drive complex implementations and large-scale hosting migrations from initiation through production. You will own FactSet's end-to-end delivery across multi-workstream programs, providing disciplined governance, proactive risk management, and strategic cross-functional coordination that enables seamless transitions to production and measurable business value for clients. You will set the standard for delivery excellence, driving consistent, predictable, and scalable outcomes across FactSet's highest-priority accounts.
This role requires proven expertise leading multiple concurrent, large-scale enterprise technology programs in a client-facing capacity, with the ability to influence and align with client program stakeholders in complex financial services organizations. You will operate as a trusted program management partner to align with internal teams across product, technology, and account management to ensure seamless client delivery. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, collaborative, and effective at leading through influence in matrixed organizations, with a proven track record delivering enterprise technology programs as a software vendor, consultant, or practitioner within financial services. Experience with performance-related projects is considered a plus, as is the willingness to develop a high-level understanding of the product areas.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the program and project delivery of the organization's most complex client implementations using FactSet's iterative implementation methodology, including enterprise transformations and hosting migrations.
  • Own enterprise-level program governance, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, dependencies, decision management, escalation, and reporting across multiple workstreams.
  • Requires the ability to develop high-level knowledge of the buy-side product suite, including an understanding of project sequencing across performance, attribution, GIPS, risk, quantitative analytics, and reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed program plans, RAID logs, and weekly/monthly status reporting; proactively identify risks, dependencies, and delivery bottlenecks; drive mitigation plans and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Partner with client project management and senior stakeholders to align scope, timelines, dependencies, and communication strategies.
  • Shape and Influence program phasing and delivery strategy to maximize business value, reduce risk, and align outcomes with client business priorities and contractual commitments.
  • Matrix-lead cross-functional internal and client teams, setting priorities, forecasting milestones, and holding teams accountable for commitments.
  • Identify and manage cross-program, technical environments, and third-party vendor dependencies; coordinate sequencing to minimize conflicts, delays, and delivery risk across parallel programs.
  • Communicate project status, key decisions, priorities, and escalations to stakeholders; create and present project artifacts including status reports, risk assessments, and decision frameworks; manage expectations internally and externally.
  • Lead resource planning and capacity management across assigned programs, anticipating constraints, and proactively resolving resourcing risks.
  • Coordinate and manage client readiness, training, cutover planning, and transition to production, ensuring operational stability and successful adoption.
  • Own project financials, burn-down tracking, and change control aligned with client statements of work.

Qualifications:
  • 11+ years of project management experience leading complex, multi-year, enterprise technology programs; deep experience implementing financial systems for asset managers, banks, or insurers is highly valued.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with ability to manage expectations, influence senior stakeholders, and navigate politically complex situations.
  • Demonstrated track record in systemic risk leadership, including identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and resolution across multiple workstreams and vendors; extensive experience using RAID logs to drive proactive outcomes.
  • Strong leadership presence with experience leading and influencing global, distributed, matrixed teams across multiple organizations, vendors, and workstreams.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and drive alignment in high-stakes, client-facing environments with competing priorities.
  • Ability to adapt project frameworks and methodologies to unique client circumstances and business requirements while maintaining governance discipline.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, third-party dependencies, and contract deliverables; comfortable working with statements of work and change orders.
  • Hands-on experience with PM and collaboration tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, MS Teams, Jira, and program dashboards
  • Demonstrated accountability for delivery financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, burn tracking, variance management, and disciplined change control aligned with client contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • PMP® or PgMP® certification preferred; or equivalent experience leading large-scale, multi-year client programs within a global software vendor or management consulting firm.
