Job description

Job Title: Data Entry Operator
Location: Goshen, IN (On-site Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Remote Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays)
Rate: $21.50/hour
Duration: Immediate start through April 30, 2026 (with possible extensions)
Contract Type: W-2 (U.S. work authorization required; no C2C or sponsorship)

Position Overview**

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Data Entry Operator to support data processing functions within a utilities environment. The role involves handling sensitive and confidential data, performing high-volume entry tasks across multiple systems, and supporting the leak survey group with sorting, scrubbing, and process execution. This is a hybrid role based in Merrillville, IN, requiring two days on-site and three days remote per week.

Key Responsibilities**

  • Perform intermediate to advanced data entry tasks, including alpha/numeric input and 10-key data entry
  • Enter, proofread, and validate large volumes of information across multiple platforms
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity by correcting errors and identifying inconsistencies
  • Prioritize and sort incoming data to meet team and operational deadlines
  • Support leak survey group activities, including data sorting, scrubbing, and customer-side leak process entry
  • Assist in phone-based follow-up related to data collection and execution
  • Generate reports on data entry activities and outcomes
  • Follow established guidelines and procedures, escalating decisions as appropriate
  • Assist with onboarding and guidance for other staff once proficient
  • Make simple equipment adjustments (e.g., switching input sets, toggling system controls.

Required Qualifications**

  • High School Diploma required; post-secondary education preferred
  • 4–6 years of data entry experience in a high-volume or technical environment
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access is preferred
  • Ability to key at 10,000 keystrokes per hour using 10-key adding machine
  • Strong mathematical ability and item processing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, record-keeping, and task organization
