Job description

IT Manager                                                                                                                               

100% ON-SITE POSITION


Our client has an immediate opportunity for an experienced IT Manager to lead and oversee the companyโ€™s information technology infrastructure and operations. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing a small IT team, coordinating with internal stakeholders, overseeing technology vendors, and ensuring the security, reliability, and efficiency of the companyโ€™s systems. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to supporting a fastpaced corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a small internal IT team, including help desk staff and technical support personnel.
  • Oversee the management, configuration, and optimization of company networks, systems, and security tools, including Meraki, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage security tools, protocols, and best practices to safeguard company systems, data, and communications.
  • Oversee help desk operations and ensure timely, efficient support for all endusers across the organization.
  • Manage IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, including capital planning and lifecycle management for hardware, software, and systems.
  • Manage technology vendors, including procurement, service providers, SaaS platforms, and equipment suppliers.
  • Review and negotiate purchase orders and vendor commercial terms in close coordination with the Legal Department.
  • Coordinate, collaborate with, and execute strategic technical initiatives developed in partnership with the companyโ€™s outside IT consultant.
  • Oversee technology onboarding and offboarding processes, including account provisioning, equipment deployment, and securitycompliant deactivation.
  • Lead or support ITrelated projects, including implementations, upgrades, migrations, and security enhancements.
  • Maintain documentation of systems, procedures, licenses, configurations, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand technology needs and identify opportunities for improvements in efficiency and security.
  • Occasional travel to project sites within New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut may be required.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience in a corporate or similarly structured organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a small team, including training, development, and performance oversight.
  • Experience with budgeting, capital planning, and IT cost management.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including experience with reviewing and negotiating purchase orders and commercial terms (with legal guidance).
  • Hands on expertise with:
    • Meraki networking hardware and management tools
    • Microsoft 365 administration
    • Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
    • Security tools, protocols, and best practices
    • Networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networks)
    • Help desk operations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Management and hands on technical experience working on-site, or fieldbased operational environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments and modern endpoint management solutions (e.g., Intune).
  • Experience with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategies.
