Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Data Scientist to join our team in Tampa, FL. The Data Scientist will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to interpret and analyze complex sets of data to produce actionable insights. This role requires a knowledge of programming, mathematical modeling, and statistics to carry out machine learning projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Quantitative analysis of data sets using exploratory mathematical and statistical analysis.
* Coordinating data analytic research activities applied to structured and unstructured data sets.
* Providing novel solutions to command data challenges through experimentation, by applying scientific methodology and statistics to frame problems and test hypotheses.
* Apply natural language processing (NLP) methods, clustering techniques and predictive modeling to generate insights.
* Designing and automating processes to facilitate the manipulation and analysis of data across dissimilar and large-scale data sets; cleaning and organizing data sets.
* Using frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop for large-scale data processing
* Creating data visualizations using products like Tableau or Power BI.
* Researching, designing, and implementing algorithms to solve complex problems using R, Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas), or similar scientific programming languages.
* Perform statistical modeling and machine learning cloud-based ML platforms.
* Communicating complex concepts and hypotheses to a non-technical audience. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a STEM field; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is acceptable with verifiable work experience.
* Proficiency with one or more programming languages such as Python, R or Java.
* Demonstrated experience applying data science methods to real-world data problems.
* Proficiency in Agile Development and Git Operations.
* Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex technical documentation and analytical reporting.
Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science.
* Experience with the Sponsor's primary cyber risk and compliance automation tools. Clearance Requirements: * Active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Physical Requirements: * Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
* Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
* Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
* Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
