Job description

We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.
As a global leader in advanced mobility solutions, our outstanding team of legal professionals helps us navigate the continually changing legal and regulatory landscape. In our Office of General Counsel, you'll be part of an organization that collaborates with outside counsel to operate as a global team and deliver world-class legal, tax and audit services to client groups throughout the company.
In this position...
  • As a global leader in advanced mobility solutions, our outstanding team of legal professionals helps us navigate an increasingly complex digital landscape.
  • In our Office of General Counsel, you'll be part of a world-class team dedicated to protecting Ford's global operations and customer trust.
  • You will be a core contributor to Ford's privacy incident response team. That involves a wide range of activities like updating corporate policies and directly interfacing with internal teams to help triage, investigate, and log data privacy incidents.
  • You will play a key role in protecting customer and employee trust by ensuring our privacy response processes are agile and robust.

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
  • Perform real-time data privacy incident handling across Ford's global IT environments.
  • Help update Ford's privacy incident response policies, processes, and procedures in an everchanging regulatory landscape.
  • Lead the operationalizing Ford's global data privacy incident response lifecycle by logging events, assigning tasks, and ensuring responsible teammates see matters to close.
  • Utilize expert judgement to triage and escalate matters for appropriate leadership in collaboration with Legal, Privacy, Cyber, and related IT teams.
  • Participate in post-incident activities, including "lessons learned" sessions, to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency in our detection, response, and remediation capabilities.

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, data privacy, and/or legal operations.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education.
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platforms or other tools used for tracking and managing privacy obligations (e.g., OneTrust, RadarFirst, ServiceNow, Archer, etc.).
  • The ability to translate complex privacy regulations into actionable guidance and critical investigative questions.

Even better, you may have...
  • Professional privacy certifications, such as CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional) or CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager).
  • Prior experience working within a large, multinational organization, navigating dynamic data ecosystems and diverse business units.
  • An understanding of information security principles and how they intersect with data privacy practices.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous process improvement and staying ahead of the latest threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
  • Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
  • Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
  • Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
  • Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
  • Tuition assistance
  • Established and active employee resource groups
  • Paid time off for individual and team community service
  • A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
  • Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
