Job description

Work Location: Newington, CT.  This is an in person role, not remote, not hybrid


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm


SUMMARY

Works closely with the Plant Manager to ensure production metrics are achieved and the quality of printed materials produced meet or exceed client expectations.   Provide leadership to drive process improvements for production, quality and safety initiatives.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Oversee and train production employees.   
  2. Make certain employees are aware of scheduling needs and assist as necessary to make certain schedules are met.  
  3. Communicate monthly production, safety and quality goals to employees.  Review performance of each employee to their individual goals. 
  4. Ensure the safe use of equipment and that the appropriate PPE is being used. 
  5. Schedule regular maintenance. 
  6. Enforce company guidelines and standards. 
  7. Generate and communicate quality requirements to appropriate personnel. 
  8. Provide technical expertise when Quality issues are identified.  Research and documents issues and concerns identified. 
  9. Communicate all Quality concerns and issues to appropriate levels internally and externally.   Interacts with internal personnel, clients and vendors as needed. 
  10. Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department. 
  11. Drive continuous improvement initiatives. 
  12. Work with the Plant Manager to schedule maintenance. 
  13. Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.  This may entail running a press when needed. 
  14. Keep manager informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives. 
  15. Comply with company rules and regulations. 
  16. Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data. 


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or Engineering
  • Print related experience preferred.
