Job description

Bessemer Trust is seeking a Data Operations Associate to join its Data & Tax Operations team supporting the setup and maintenance of securities, accounts, and enterprise reference data within our financial trust accounting platform. This operations-focused role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of security master, account master, and other reference data that support investment operations, trust accounting, and client servicing. The Associate will perform asset setup across multiple asset classes, resolve reference data exceptions, identify opportunities to improve operational processes, and help ensure the integrity of firmwide master data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Securities Operations, Asset Services, Securities Master, Reference Data, Static Data, Account Maintenance, Market Data Operations, or a similar financial services operations role.
  • Hands-on experience with securities setup, account master maintenance, and securities reference data management.
  • Working knowledge of financial instruments across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, and other investment products.
  • Experience with high-volume data updates for security master, account master, pricing, and other reference data with a strong emphasis on data accuracy, integrity, and operational controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, formulas, reconciliation, and data validation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple requests and work effectively in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and strong operational controls, with a high level of ownership, accountability, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience using SQL or similar query tools for data querying, validation and troubleshooting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the firm's security master, account master, pricing, and other enterprise reference data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and operational integrity.
  • Create, maintain, and validate security master records across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, and other investment instruments.
  • Perform account setup and ongoing account master maintenance within the firm's trust accounting platform.
  • Research and resolve securities setup issues and discrepancies, reference data exceptions, and reconciliation breaks.
  • Perform reconciliations and data validation to ensure the completeness and accuracy of securities and account master records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, strengthen controls, and reduce manual effort through process improvements and automation.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and documentation to support consistency, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with business partners across the firm to resolve operational issues and support business initiatives.
  • Participate in system testing, upgrades, conversions, and implementation of new operational initiatives.

Preferred

  • Global Plus or a similar trust accounting platform.
  • Bloomberg Terminal, ICE, Refinitiv, or similar market data platforms to support security master, pricing, and reference data maintenance.
  • Reconciling large volumes of security master, account master, pricing data, and reference data.
  • Workflow automation tools such as Excel macros or Microsoft Power Automate.

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 per year. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. In addition, this position may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, and other compensation programs as applicable. Eligible employees may participate in a 401(k) program with a generous profit-sharing contribution, medical, prescription dental, and vision coverage; life insurance; disability coverage; paid holidays; vacation; and sick time, subject to plan terms and Company policies.
