Job description

The Manager, Data and AI Operations plays a key role in the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) organization which will be responsible for delivering 24/7 Production Data Support for all the Data Load processes to Delta's Analytical and AI Environments. Supports, influences, and communicates the mission, goals, objectives and practices of the department, technology group, and Delta. Demonstrates leadership across multiple projects, peer groups, and departments in thought, initiative, responsibility, teamwork, actions, and culture. Effectively manages relationships with the customer (internal and external). Responsible for building team including interviewing, training, and performance reviews. Demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate and develop staff. 

Essential Responsibilities: 
  • Manage end-to-end operations of data loading processes/jobs across all data & AI platforms which include the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Lakes, AI/Machine Learning, Data Pipelines, ETL, Business Intelligence and Streaming Platforms
  • The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem-solver with a passion for developing and managing high-performing teams
  • Manage AWS based cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and data operations
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies that drive data processing and operations success
  • Supervise/Manage all aspects (including coaching, providing direction, staffing, delivering reviews, setting aligned objectives, time reporting, etc.) of direct reports' overall performance. The Team is spread across the US and India to provide the 24/7 coverage.
  • Leading and motivating teams to achieve objectives and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ensure that each deliverable contributes to the customers' business goals being met, and that customer satisfaction is high.
  • Collaborate with the portfolio Directors, General Managers, Managers, Development teams, Architects & other stakeholders on deliverables for the teams and the support of those deliverables.
  • Responsible for leading a group of individual contributors that are responsible for providing 24/7 support for all load jobs that add data to the Enterprise Data and AI Technology Data Analytical Environments.  Includes supporting code in multiple areas (Informatica, Python, Teradata DB, AWS, Databricks). Part of this support includes technical support, point of contact for issues, creating reports, monitoring service levels, enhancing program code to fix defects and interface for customer services issues.
  • Ensure that the Delta standards and procedures are adopted and implemented.
  • Consult with other technology groups to ensure support requirements are met.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving group changes and additions and supporting Enterprise Change Management.
  • Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking and participation in professional associations.
  • Communicate with the Departmental leadership vision/strategy and then manage people and technology to follow that direction. 
  • Monitors metrics, problems & trends to determine solutions and required process changes that will make the function more efficient.
  • Competent with AI use cases especially from a support perspective. 
  • Familiar with cloud data platforms e.g. Teradata, Databricks, Snowflake as well as AWS Architecture and usage.
  • Be responsible for cloud cost and improving efficiency.
