Job description

Finance Operations Associate, Reconciliation

As a Finance Operations Associate supporting Reconciliation, you'll help support the operational and financial health of Capital One Travel across Flights, Hotels, and Cars. You'll alongside Senior members of the Finance Operations Reconciliation team and partner with Product Operations, Customer Service, Commercial teams, Finance, technology teams, travel providers, and other internal stakeholders to help ensure accurate financial workflows, reconciliation processes, operational reporting, and exceptional customer experiences across Capital One Travel products.

In this role, you'll support day-to-day reconciliation and financial operations across multiple travel products. This may include comparing booking, servicing, payment, settlement, provider, and internal financial data; identifying and investigating discrepancies; supporting exception management; and helping ensure financial activity is complete and accurate.

You will support processes related to airline debit memos (ADMs), airline credit memos (ACMs), Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC) and Interactive Agent Reporting (IAR) reconciliation, manual operational workflows, reporting, and servicing investigations. You'll help support operational controls and financial accuracy while contributing to initiatives focused on automation improvements, process documentation, operational reporting, and workflow efficiency.

You'll contribute to operational investigations, reconciliation efforts, escalation tracking, and financial issue resolution while partnering with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence and continuous improvement efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, technically curious, customer-focused, data-driven, has a strong bias for action, and excited to grow within a fast-paced travel technology environment.

As part of the team's continued evolution, you'll also gain exposure to modern automation and AI-powered operational tools used to improve monitoring, workflow efficiency, operational reporting, and issue investigation across the Flights platform.

What You'll Do

  • Support day-to-day financial reconciliation and exception-management workflows across Flights, Hotels, and Cars

  • Assist with ARC and IAR reconciliation tasks to help ensure financial accuracy, operational compliance, and reduce financial losses across the flights platform

  • Monitor operational queues, reporting, and reconciliation workflows to help identify issues, discrepancies, and trends

  • Support manual overflow processes and operational exceptions from automated servicing and reconciliations systems

  • Assist with operational investigations related to ticketing, refunds, exchanges, airline adjustments, and financial discrepancies

  • Help maintain monthly operational reporting, financial summaries, reconciliation tracking, and process documentation

  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Learning & Development teams to communicate and resolve agents errors or operational issues with financial impact

  • Support bug triage, escalation tracking, and operational investigations across servicing and financial workflows

  • Assist with testing, validation, and QA of new operational tools, workflows, automations, and configuration changes

  • Use dashboards, reporting tools, and AI-assisted technologies to surface trends, improve workflows, and support operational decision-making

  • Support operational launches, roadmap activities, and cross-functional initiatives across Capital One Travel categories

  • Advocate for customer experience by identifying operational gaps and sharing actionable insights with product teams

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • 1+ years of experience in finance, product operations, travel operations, customer operations, or technical support

  • 3+ years experience in travel and with travel providers Sabre, Amadeus, Travelport, Aggregators, New Distribution Capabilities (NDC), or Airline Reporting Corporation (ARC)

  • 1+ year of experience working with data, reporting, transaction processing, financial workflows, or operational investigations

  • 1+ years of experience with operational workflows, reconciliation processes, reporting, issue tracking, escalation management, and QA processes

  • 1+ years of experience analyzing operational or financial data

  • 1+ years of experience with Google Suite

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $73,300 - $83,700 for Extended Op Associate


New York, NY: $80,000 - $91,200 for Extended Op Associate


Richmond, VA: $66,700 - $76,100 for Extended Op Associate









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
