Investment Operations Associate
Position Summary:
The Investment Operations Associate plays an integral role in the daily operations supporting the company portfolio strategies. Core responsibilities span the investment operations function, including trade and settlement support, portfolio reconciliation, performance reporting, and participation in fund operations projects.
The Associate serves as a key point of coordination across the investment operations team, working closely with traders, custodian banks, sub-administrators, and colleagues across departments to ensure data accuracy, timely issue resolution, and the successful completion of recurring deliverables.
Responsibilities vary across the operational calendar, ranging from portfolio reconciliation and corporate action review to involvement in new account launches, shareholder reporting cycles, and annual audits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performing daily Investment Operations functions including accurately transmitting trade data instructions to custodian banks and sub administrators, working in collaboration with brokers and custodian banks to help resolve settlement issues, reviewing corporate actions for mutual fund and separately managed account portfolios, setting up new securities and monitoring trades through settlement.
  • Producing both routine and ad hoc portfolio and trade reconciliations and reporting for internal and external consumption and assisting with the review of strategy data prepared by other teams.
  • Compiling and preparing performance, attribution, risk statistics and portfolio characteristics data, contributing to analysis.
  • Supporting day to day communication with service providers and sub administrators. Participating in recurring calls and system upgrade testing.
  • Collaborate with Manager to prepare fund regulatory filings and related projects.
  • Working with a multi-department team to support the onboarding of new separate accounts and launch products. Attending meetings, preparing paperwork, providing necessary data, and helping confirm functionality with external parties.
  • Supporting internal and external audits as well as other ad hoc tasks and special projects.

Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to competently perform the job duties.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
  • 2+ years of experience in middle office, investment operations, fund accounting, or fund administration preferred. Exceptional recent graduates with relevant internship experience in investment operations or financial services and a strong academic background in finance, accounting, or economics will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of equity, international and fixed income assets, trade settlements, portfolio analytics, financial reporting and performance and attribution calculations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and a willingness to apply emerging technologies to automate or improve operational workflows
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure when meeting daily deadlines.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, reliable and proactive.
  • Effective at working both as an individual and in a team oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; comfort learning and working across multiple financial systems and data platforms.
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new third-party software; prior exposure to systems such as Charles River, FactSet, or Bloomberg is welcome but not required.
