Job Description

 The client is seeking Network Security Engineers to focus on the support and implementation of firewall and VPN systems for corporate data network. The focus will extend to support, implementation, monitoring and documentation of networking systems too. This position includes learning, understanding and implementation of network design to architect support of these firewall/VPN systems.

Primary Responsibilities:


Tier 3 support for Firewall/VPN issues. Requires the engineer to work independently to troubleshoot and resolve related network issues. This includes issues escalated to them from other groups in Frontier organization.


Planning and designing the future corporate Firewall/VPN infrastructure, lab testing new equipment and processes, creating support documentation and procedures for the corporate data network.


Install, configure and maintain new equipment and software for Firewalls/VPNs.


Utilize monitoring tools to evaluate Firewall/VPN performance and evaluate where we need to apply changes to growing areas in the corporate data network.


Maintain Network drawings and documents with current Firewall/VPN configurations and supporting data (i.e. vendors, circuit ID's, support contacts).


Document Firewall/VPN problems and resolution for future reference.


Available to work extra hours and work on an on-call rotation.


Available to travel when required as necessary.




Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:


Palo Alto, Checkpoint, ASA, and PIX Firewall/VPN Configurations.


Knowledge and experience with routing protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and IGRP.


Advanced OSI model knowledge including advanced layer 3 & 4 packet analysis for end to end 


network troubleshooting.


Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis background.


Excellent critical thinking skills.


Ability to identify security incidents, provide supporting information, and support the corporate 


data network through containment and remediation.


Experience managing timelines and projects. 


Enjoys working with others in a team atmosphere and is able to mentor and train Level 1,
