About the Job

Vancord is actively seeking a motivated Network Engineer to join our Service Desk team. This is a great role for an individual with solid experience delivering technology in an enterprise. If you are passionate about learning, growing your technical abilities, and contributing to a collaborative team environment, this role is perfect for you.

About Vancord

Vancord provides managed services in both infrastructure and security spaces. As a junior member of the security engineering team, you will support the project pipeline by assisting with testing activities, contributing to report development, and learning the full lifecycle of security engagements, from scoping through final delivery.

Responsibilities

* 5+ years overall experience as a Senior IT Consultant/PS engineer in enterprise environments.

* 5+ years Senior experience working with enterprise class switches and routers.

* 5+ years experience with EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, spanning tree, multicast routing, QOS, MPLS and security protocols.

* 5+ years experience with security best practices and implementing firewalls and perimeter security measures including VPN technologies.

* 5+ years experience with network monitoring tools such as Cisco Works, NetQOS, and other similar SNMP monitoring platforms.

* Proficiency in MLPS including QOS, MPLS VPN, WLAN, and Voice/Network convergence technologies.

* Advanced experience with network optimization using QOS and traffic engineering techniques using DiffServe and associated queuing techniques using Cisco network equipment.

* 5+ years experience analyzing and developing LAN/WAN network designs

* Skills needed to work effectively in a team environment, promote customer service and handle complex technical issues. Time and project management skills required.
