Job Title: Volunteer
Location: Archbold Biological Station, Venus, FL
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Job Summary: Volunteers at Archbold Biological Station play a crucial role in supporting our mission of ecological research, conservation, and education. Volunteers assist in various areas, including visitor engagement, educational outreach, land management, landscaping, and clerical work. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful scientific and conservation efforts while gaining valuable experience and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with visitor engagement and educational outreach programs.
Support land management activities, including habitat restoration and invasive species control.
Participate in landscaping and maintenance of the station's grounds.
Provide clerical support, including data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks.
Help with research projects by collecting data, monitoring wildlife, and maintaining records.
Engage with the community and promote the station's mission and values.
Qualifications:
Passion for conservation, ecology, and education.
Willingness to learn and participate in various tasks.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical ability to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
