Job description

This role is 4 days onsite (Monday - Thursday) at one of the below locations:

The ESG & Sustainability Compliance Specialist is responsible for directly assisting the Assistant General Counsel in the development and execution of the organization's sustainability vision, strategy, and programs. This role drives sustainability initiatives, ensures compliance with relevant ESG regulations and reporting requirements, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices across the enterprise. Operating within the Legal compliance function, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the organization meets its ESG obligations while advancing the organization's sustainability goals.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives to align with the enterprise strategy.
  • Track and analyze ESG data, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborates with the internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainable practices.
  • Manage and coordinate data gathering across the enterprise for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions calculations and coordinate the reporting thereof to any applicable consultant, designated portal or software platform, or directly to the applicable regulatory body
  • Complete all ESG related questionnaires and surveys, including annual CDP and EcoVadis surveys, and all surveys or questionnaires submitted via an internal WRF

 

Education and Experience:

  • Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Area of Study: Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, Law, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., LEED, GRI, CDP, SASB) a plus.
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 3
  • Type of Experience:
    • 3-5+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or a related compliance field.
    • Experience with ESG reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, and/or EcoVadis preferred
    • Experience with GHG emissions tracking and reporting preferred and prior experience in a corporate or legal/compliance environment a plus.
  • Special Certifications: LEED, GRI, CDP, SASB
  • Technical Competencies & Information Systems:

    • Program Development
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of ESG regulations, reporting standards, and sustainability best practices.

    • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and influence without direct authority.
