What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Data Modernization, and why are they important?

To thrive in Data Modernization, you need strong expertise in data architecture, cloud platforms, and data migration, often supported by a degree in computer science or information systems. Familiarity with tools like Azure, AWS, Snowflake, ETL frameworks, and certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics or Microsoft Azure Data Engineer are commonly required. Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills help professionals effectively lead transformation initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills are crucial for ensuring seamless migration, maximizing data value, and driving innovation within organizations.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in Data Modernization projects?

Professionals in Data Modernization often encounter challenges such as integrating legacy systems with modern cloud-based solutions, ensuring data quality during migration, and managing data security and compliance. Additionally, they may need to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align business goals with technical requirements. Adaptability and strong communication skills are important, as priorities can shift rapidly in response to evolving business needs and technology updates.

What is data modernization?

Data modernization is the process of updating and transforming an organization’s data infrastructure, tools, and practices to leverage modern technologies such as cloud computing, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence. This typically involves migrating data from legacy systems to more agile, scalable, and efficient platforms, improving data quality, accessibility, and security. The goal of data modernization is to enable better decision-making, enhance operational efficiency, and support digital transformation initiatives.

Job description

Description:

At CSpring, we believe in the power of people and data to drive real-world impact. We’re a purpose-driven consulting firm that helps organizations solve complex problems, gain insights, and achieve measurable results. Our clients span the public and private sectors, and our work — from data strategy and engineering to workforce transformation — improves lives across Indiana and beyond. We’re seeking talented professionals who are collaborative, curious, and committed to making a difference.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Mission-Driven Work – Support the transformation of rural healthcare across Indiana through a landmark $207M federal investment. Your work will directly strengthen health outcomes for Hoosier communities.
  • People-First Culture – We’re as committed to your growth as we are to delivering high-impact solutions. You’ll find support, autonomy, and community here.
  • Strategic, Hands-On Work – From program coordination and stakeholder engagement to data modernization and clinical readiness, you’ll influence every step of the process.
  • Collaborative Trust – Our clients rely on us to listen carefully, deliver consistently, and guide wisely. We partner with integrity, curiosity, and heart.

What You’ll Do

The MOCC Coordinator will serve as the primary implementation lead and liaison for the statewide Medical Operations Coordination Center (MOCC) under the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) at the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH). Working alongside a contracted MOCC vendor and a broad network of trauma system partners, this role is responsible for coordinating the planning, development, and ongoing implementation of the MOCC — a statewide infrastructure designed to improve coordination of trauma care and support regional quality improvement across both trauma and non-trauma hospitals in Indiana.

MOCC Implementation & Oversight

  • Manage and provide oversight for the MOCC implementation.
  • Facilitate and assist with strategic planning for MOCC development and implementation.
  • Collaborate and assist MOCC leadership regarding operational needs, including software interoperability and communication resources.
  • Provide guidance and assistance with MOCC hiring/staffing and other personnel needs, as applicable.
  • Work with state agencies to advance the MOCC model and increase participation and utilization.

Stakeholder Coordination & Engagement

  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement for MOCC development.
  • Act as a liaison between MOCC leadership and stakeholders across the continuum of care, including but not limited to hospital, EMS, rehab, 911/public safety, urgent care, and behavioral health.
  • Advance understanding and engagement with hospitals, EMS, 911/public safety partners, and MOCC operations statewide.
  • Collaborate with trauma stakeholders including the Indiana Trauma Care Commission and Subcommittees and EMS Commission for updates on progress and solution generation.
  • Incorporate interpersonal skills in communication with agency personnel, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Reporting & Grant Compliance

  • Provide necessary documentation and reporting based on federal grant guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, or related health field of study
  • Current/former certification as EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic, or other public safety professional such as 911 or dispatch telecommunications
  • Previous experience working with healthcare/EMS/911/public safety databases
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; experience with project management and system design
  • Possess significant process and people skills to appropriately perform the duties of the position
  • Highly motivated and able to take initiative and think outside the box
  • Ability to work closely with colleagues to identify system-related problems and to provide quality customer service
  • Ability to guide and coordinate the work of others, including appointed staff and contractors
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to teach others and respond to stakeholder questions
  • Demonstrated ability to work strategically and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of computer hardware/software capabilities and configurations within hospital, EMS, 911/public safety environments
  • DB administration and/or system software such as communication, storage management, operating systems, or capacity planning
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of the importance of data quality improvement and informed decision-making

At CSpring, we unlock the potential of people and data. If you’re ready to lead meaningful work, collaborate with passionate teams, and grow your career in a people-first consulting environment — apply today!
