Description
CONTINGENT HIRE NOTICE: This position is a contingent hire. Employment is contingent upon EDJ Associates, Inc. receiving a contract/task order award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). This position is performed primarily on-site at NSF headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
The Metrics Analyst supports the National Science Foundation's Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) by developing, analyzing, and reporting performance metrics for communications, outreach, and engagement activities. This role provides data-driven insights that inform strategic communications planning and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of NSF campaigns across diverse stakeholder audiences.
EDJ Associates, Inc. is a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) providing trusted communications, analytics, and program support services to federal agencies. EDJ supports nationally significant science and public engagement initiatives and offers a collaborative, mission-driven environment supporting the U.S. National Science Foundation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop communication strategies and products aligned with NSF's mission and national priorities.
  • Assist in creating audience-specific communication and engagement plans that incorporate metrics.
  • Support integrated strategies that coordinate written, digital, and multimedia products.
  • Collect, track, and analyze data related to events, web campaigns, social media engagement, press coverage, and other outreach activities.
  • Evaluate communication plans, digital engagement campaigns, projects, and products using audience feedback and performance measures.
  • Analyze digital engagement policies, processes, and procedures and recommend performance measurement goals and best practices.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and visualizations summarizing key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and insights for leadership.
  • Collaborate with writers, editors, and digital media staff to ensure metrics inform future content and campaign design.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices in digital analytics, media monitoring, and performance evaluation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; degree in communications, public policy, data analytics, statistics, or a science-related field preferred.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of professional experience developing communication strategies and products for science-focused organizations.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of professional experience developing metrics for communication plans and analyzing impact and return on investment (ROI) for outreach activities.
  • Experience evaluating and refining communications campaigns using audience feedback and performance measures.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.
