Who we are looking for:
Cornerstone Servicing is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Manager to lead the development and management of our data infrastructure within the Servicing Technology group. This role focuses on robust database development, data modeling, and transformation workflows using dbt (Data Build Tool) and other applications. The Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of 7-8 data professionals, including a mix of onshore and offshore talent, ensuring seamless collaboration and high-quality data delivery across the organization.

  • Compensation: $130-160k

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data models and transformation workflows using dbt.
  • Manage and mentor a distributed team of 7-8 data engineers and analysts.
  • Oversee development and performance tuning of databases and data warehouses, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director - Servicing Analytics and cross-functional stakeholders to align data infrastructure with business goals.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance across the servicing technology domain.
  • Establish and enforce standards for data modeling, documentation, testing, and version control.
  • Guide the team in implementing best practices for ELT pipelines and cloud-based data solutions.
  • Support data integration and migration efforts between systems and platforms.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively implement improvements to enhance scalability and reduce latency.
  • Ensure programs to notify downstream users are in place and tested to proactively alert end users of any issues of impact.

What you'll need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Years of experience can be replacement for Advanced degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management or engineering roles, including team leadership.
  • Proven experience managing a distributed team, including offshore resources.
  • Hands-on expertise with dbt and modern data transformation workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL pipelines. Preference to experience with dbt.
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and people management skills.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Preference to Azure experience.
  • Familiarity with data governance, compliance standards, and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of data cataloging and metadata management tools.
